    Terrorist webmasters missing

Becoming a terrorist webmaster as become VERY dangerous.
By Gerald: Internet Anthropologist Think Tank
    Oct 22, 08

    Paradigm Intel and BSU data:
Many terrorist webmasters missing, thats why the new sites haven't gone back up right away.
Al jafar can't contact the webmasters and thats why they have been so silent, they don't know
And why the sites haven't gone back up, webmasters gone.
IATT has often tracked webmasters and terrorist hackers to their IPs, and publicly posted the data. This data can lead direct to the persons home and real name.
I would seem qods have mastered remote packet capture.
USA doesn't want the sites down, they are collectiing Intel from the sites, and have left them up for 7 years.
Why would Qods ( Iran's super, secret service) want al Qaeda sites down, and kiddnap or kill the webmasters.

    There are several reasons.

al Qaeda smuggled binys son out of Iran:

    and: a Qods proxy
Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff warned that the Hezbollah resistance movement is the greatest threat to US national security. Hezbollah is known or suspected to have been involved in numerous terror attacks against the U.S., Israel or other Western targets, and includes the 1983 suicide truck bombings in Beirut that killed 241 U.S. Marines at their barracks and 58 at the French military barracks. Intelligence officials in the U.S. and Britain believe Hezbollah cells may use their computer expertise and capabilities to launch cyber attacks.
So we see plenty of motivation for Iran to attack al Qaeda, and we see al qaeda getting its butt whipped BAD in this little secret cyber war.

Blind seven-year-old beaten to death for failing to memorize the Koran

Blind Muslim seven-year-old beaten to death for failing to learn the Koran

The parents of a blind seven-year-old who was sent to a religious school in Pakistan have told how he was hung by his feet from a ceiling and beaten to death after failing to memorise the Koran.

The parents of Mohammed Atif admitted that they had ignored their son Mohammed's repeated complaints about abuse at the madrassah.

Police in the Punjab province said that Mohammed's religious teacher, Qari Ziauddin, was now in custody charged with torturing and murdering the boy on Thursday.

Police said Ziauddin, whose title "Qari" signifies he is a mullah, had suspended the boy from a ceiling fan for an hour before he beat him. When he realised how badly Mohammed was hurt, he apparently fled instead of taking him to hospital.
    ...............
The boy's body was not discovered until the next day when fellow pupils, including Mohammed's cousin, realised he had not slept in his bed. They searched the madrassah and found his battered corpse in Ziauddin's room.

An autopsy concluded that Mohammed, who was blind from birth, died of severe head injuries and also found marks of "physical torture" on his body. Police said the fatal blow might have been caused by Ziauddin dropping the boy when he cut him down from the fan.

According to the boy's father, the teacher had previously smashed him over the head with an iron rod, cutting him so badly that he needed stitches.

    ....

The killing has sparked concerns for the welfare of the 1.5 million students in the country's 13,000 madrassahs, which are regarded as potential recruiting grounds for al-Qa'eda and the Taliban.

In 2002 President Pervez Musharraf responded to international concerns by ordering madrassahs to adopt a more modern curriculum. But religious hardliners have stymied many of the reforms, and their refusal to allow state regulation has also seen the schools develop an reputation for child abuse.

While officialdom often turns a blind eye, the sheer brutality of the latest case has led the new prime minister, Yousuf Raza Gilani, to order an inquiry.

Police said the other children who attend the Qari Latif madrassah in Vihari, 150 miles southwest of Lahore, have all been withdrawn.

Investigators said Ziauddin had admitted the assault and claimed such brutality was normal. "We punish students who don't learn their lessons," he told detectives. "We used to get similar beatings when we were studying in the same schools. It is not uncommon."...

OHH ooo YES..think the info on biny is good,
listen to Baitullah Mehsud, Now he says Biny is DEAD..G

Osama Bin Laden is not in Pakistan he is dead says Taliban leader
    Monday, 26 May 2008 17:43 Pakistan Daily
    E-mail Print PDF

A top Taliban commander Baitullah Mehsud has rejected reports that al-Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden, and other leaders are hiding in his region.

"The al-Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden is dead, and the Afghan Taliban leader, Mullah Omar, are not in our territory," he said in an interview broadcast by a satellite television network.

Funeral prayers have been said for Osama bin Laden over the years with one reported by a Pakistani news organisation, and another in an Egyptian newspaper as far back as December 2001.

This report quoted an official of the Taliban saying that he had suffered serious complications in the lungs and died a natural and quiet death.

    LIE see

    Bin laden, comatose:

    parencentesis...

The news has been reported that he died of heart and kidney disorders. Americans and Pakistani leaders have suggested that he was one, killed in the US bombing of Afghanistan, died of illness later, or just died.

The pro-Taliban leader who is based in Pakistan's tribal area of South Waziristan denied hosting the Saudi leader in local villages, as US intelligence officials suspect.

Mehsud also rejected claims by the government in Islamabad that he was responsible for the assassination in December of Pakistan People's Party leader, Benazir Bhutto. "It wasn't us who killed Bhutto," he said.

Bin Laden may be dead, old news here.

    Monday, February 11, 2008 Geostrategy-Direct.com

Bin Laden may be dead, but living on through old sound bites

U.S. intelligence agencies are beginning to suspect that Al Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden is dead after all, despite a recent audio tape exhorting Al Qaida terrorists in Iraq.

Undated footage from the Internet shows Al Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden making statements from an unknown location. Reuters
The Al Qaida leader who was the main force behind the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington, was last heard on an audio tape released Dec. 30. The tape mentioned Iraqis who are opposing Al Qaida, but there has been no specific time referenced from his last two messages. An earlier message in October also exhorted Al Qaida to fight in Iraq.

Questions about Bin Laden are being raised by intelligence officials who say that without a specific time mark with a photo of Bin Laden, his presence cannot be confirmed and the most recent statements could have been put together from older audio.

Al Qaida operates a very sophisticated propaganda operations that includes the use of audio and videotape messages to rally followers and to recruit new jihadists.

The new analysis of Bin Laden follows the death of No. 3 Al Qaida leader Abu Laith Al Libi, who was killed last week in a CIA-led operation in Pakistan that involved an armed unmanned aerial vehicle attack.

Asked about U.S. military or intelligence involving in the terrorist killing, Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters: "I'm not going to talk any more about the operational side of this, of how that in fact occurred."

Mullen called al Libi a key figure in Al Qaida and said "elimination of someone like that is a very important outcome in terms of this long war."

Mullen also said safe havens for Al Qaida in Pakistan remain a concern and to be able to conduct an operation in the area was "important."

KEY: Terror Leader Killed in Missile Strike?

By HABIBULLAH KHAN and MARTHA RADDATZ
    Jan. 30, 2008

Pakistani intelligence sources say they believe a "high-value" al Qaeda target was killed in a missile strike yesterday in the country's tribal region bordering Afghanistan.

U.S. officials said there was no indication that the target was Osama bin Laden or his deputy Ayman al Zawahri, but one senior official told ABCNews.com the strike was aimed at one particular figure.

"We don't know whether we got him yet, we are sorting through it," the official said, indicating the intended target was a top leader of the terror group.

The official also ruled out as a target American al Qaeda Adam Gadahn, who appeared recently in a propaganda videotape.

"Gadahn may be recognizable to all of you, but he is really not that high up on the food chain in al Qaeda and not that important," the official said.

Pakistani officials initially said that 12 suspected militants had been killed in a midnight strike against a home in a village in North Waziristan, Khushali Torikhel.

Both the Pakistani military and the CIA have used missile attacks in the past to target top al Qaeda leaders.

The CIA uses missiles attached to the unmanned Predator aircraft which fly over Pakistani airspace with tacit Pakistani government approval.

MIRAMSHAH, Jan 29: Twelve suspected militants were killed in a missile attack on a house in Mirali tehsil in the troubled North Waziristan tribal region on Monday night, officials and witnesses said.

The missile hit a house in Khushali Torikhel village, about three kilometres off Mirali town.

It landed in the guestrooms and killed the 12 people.

Residents said the two guestrooms of the house were destroyed.
( They knew where the guestrooms were, which rooms to target them...G )

Local tribesmen immediately took the bodies in possession and buried them.

A loud explosion rocked the area at 11.22pm and the people came out of their homes in panic, a resident said.

He said that nobody exactly knew the occupants of the household and some foreigners might have been in the house.

The attack caused anger among tribesmen and students staged a protest in Miramshah. They chanted slogans against the government and the United States.

It could not be confirmed if the attack was carried out by the Pakistani security forces, but locals suspected that the missile had been fired from a drone.

The tribesmen warned that the attack could derail the ongoing talks with militants for restoration of peace in the restive region.

    Update:
    7 Arabs among missile victims

    By Our Correspondent

MIRAMSHAH, Jan 30: Militants retrieved and buried on Wednesday the bodies of 12 foreigners who had been killed in a missile attack on a residential compound in the Khushali Toorikhel area of North Waziristan on Monday night.

Local people said the identity of the militants killed in the attack remained unknown but according to unconfirmed reports seven of them were Arabs while the other five from central Asian.

The compound, located about three kilometres south of Mirali town, is owned by Abdus Sattar, a driver, who survived the attack.

A large number of militants had surrounded the site to get the bodies which the later buried in a local graveyard.

Militants are still keeping the local people away from the place, a villager told Dawn on phone. He said that unmanned air vehicles had hovered over the area on Wednesday.

The attack is a mystery because it is still not known who had fired the missile.

Some local people claimed that a drone had fired the missile but officials have been keeping quiet.

I heard the sound of a plane just before the explosion, said the man who identified himself as Zaheer Gul.

Several places in the North Waziristan have come under attack in the recent past. A house was attacked in Mosaki village in Mirali tehsil in December 2005 in which Al Qaedas operational commander Hamza Rabia was killed.

Meanwhile, militants attacked a security base in the Razmak sub-division of North Waziristan on Wednesday.

According to sources, two army soldiers were killed while another was injured in the afternoon attack.

They said that the militants had sneaked into Razmak from the adjacent Makin area where security forces had launched an operation against supporters of Baitullah Mehsud.

Al Qaeda Leader Killed in North Waziristan?

Yesterdays airstrike against a purported Taliban safe house in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal agency resulted in 12 killed just as the Taliban and the government are prepared to sign a new peace accord. But the strike may have claimed a high value al Qaeda leader, ABC News reported today.

While the Internet is abuzz with the possibility of Osama bin Laden or Ayman al Zawahiri being killed, the likelihood, as ABC News noted, is low. A series of airstrikes in the tribal areas from earlier 2006 onward has yielded only two mid-level a Qaeda operatives: Imam Asad, the chief trainer of the Black Guard, and Mohsin Matawalli Atwa, one of the architects of the 1998 attacks on the U.S. Embassies in Eastern Africa.

Anonymous Pakistani intelligence officials have misled the U.S. officials about the deaths of high value al Qaeda targets in the past. The Pakistanis claimed six senior al Qaeda operatives were killed in a strike in January 2006. These leaders were: Midhat Mursi al Sayid Umar (Abu Khabab), al Qaeda's WMD expert; Abdul Rahman al Maghribi, Zawahiri's son-in-law and an al Qaeda commander; Abu Obaidah al Masri, the Kunar, Afghanistan operations chief; Marwan al Suri, the Waziristan operations chief; Khalid Habib, the commander of southeastern Afghanistan commander; and Abd al Hadi al Iraqi, a member of al Qaeda's military committee. The Washington Post reported almost two years later that they had, in fact, survived the attack. Abd al Hadi al Iraqi was captured while trying to enter Iraq in April 2007.

I noted yesterday that the strike may have been designed to derail the new peace talks, as happened in October 2006 in Bajaur agency. At that time, the government was negotiating with Faqir Mohammed and his local Taliban forces in Bajaur. The government leveled a Taliban training camp at the Chingai madrassa, killing more than 80 Taliban. The peace talks with the Taliban in Bajaur were sabotaged, but a deal was cut six months later in March 2007.

Middle East situation report, Paradigm review.

I want to be careful with this, everything I am reporting here is developed from OSINT and application of Paradigm Intel and process.

Our view of the ME is very favorable: ( Excluding Iran )
al Qaeda in Iraq is moving into a mop up Phase.
They are operating as a Criminal gang now.

About two months ago Intel services were able to pick up the IP's of many of the terrorists involved in the operation of their Internet Activities ( even though they diligently use good proxys ). This includes webmasters and the Islamofacists Hackers.

Locating and interrogating these cadre and collection of their data bases on their PC's and thumb sticks lead to many Military operations against al Qaeda and the Taliban, and a virtual shut down of their Internet operations.
Then Civilians closed most of their terror web sites.
Morale on most jahid forums is the lowest we have ever seen it. ( Life expectancy of Internet Jahidist is 3 years. )

There are many classified operations on going. A major one covered in the press is the operation in Afghanistan, Which has led to a decapitation of all mid-level Taliban cadre.
Even the Taliban see the writting on the wall, and they are looking for a way out.

Biny has admitted al Qaeda has failed in Iraq and he goes begging for any support, which Islam continues to deny him.
KIA are way down, Civilian deaths are way down, unEmployment and inflation in Iraq are way down, key indicators.

Spain seems to be into some heavy secret operations and we don't have a good handle on that yet.

al Qaeda has been wringing suicide bombers out of the Ummah for six years now and abusing them and their souls.

al Qaeda is low on money and man power, and USA is getting closer to Biny and his top level
    commanders.

We expect some last hurrahs, and al Qaeda to go out in a fit of violence.
    The Taliban maybe converted.

A major worry is the "LAW of unintended Consequences."

    Example:
GAP Inc. just discovered some of their goods were made by starving children. ( I know, I don't know if they are really starving, and neither does GAP )
They re-doubled thier efforts to make sure no children are involved in sweat shops making their products.
And there will be a crack down on children working.
While I support these efforts, I want to make sure "starving children" have not been kicked out into the street to starve from the sweat shops.

Starving, dying children is more offensive that having them work in a sweat shop, where they earn money for food.
We have to look at consequences.

Drugs in Afghan and Patki fall into the same category.

While I support the anti-drug efforts in both countries, it would be a mistake to destroy drug crops and force starving farmers into the arms of the Taliban for insurgent wages.

The Taliban had outlawed growing poppies, made it a crime and enforced it.
The Ummah had no one to turn to. So Poppy eradication can be done.

But YOU have to be in CONTROL to enforce it, like the Taliban were.

The timing should be considered, on drug eradication programs.

Everyone is holding their breath to see if its all going to stack up like this.
It won't, there will be surprises and set backs.

But we must try and not trip over the
    "LAW of unintended Consequences."

    Summary:
al Qaeda in Iraq is winding down.
Taliban: very heavy losses and under heavy pressure. And a new paradigm developing al Qaeda V.S. Taliban.***
Terrorist activities on the web have been dealt a very heavy blow.

    Propagana arm crippled.
Both al Qaeda and Taliban operating with 3rd and 4th tier cadre.
    and under funded.
al Qaeda is being rejected by the Ummah and ratings for the Taliban are dropping among the Ummah also.
Most recent videos have been desperate attempts to try and breathe some life into the terrorists organizations.

They have gone from "issuing orders" to "suggestions" to "begging" and even APOLOGIES.

THEIR MOST RECENT EFFORT is their Internet Jahid against civilian targets, which is also doomed to failure.

The press need to recognize this story will also sell papers.
When did it become "Politically Correct" for American news to be Anti-American?

The turn around has been very quick, sudden and still not fully recognized, past two months.
aQ and the Taliban are experiencing it, going thru it and see it much clearer then other countries.
As time goes on it will become evident.
    All the marks are there.

Participant observation, the "process" all point to this paradigm, news seems to confirm it.
Bots continue to collect evidence as it unfolds.

    Al-Qaeda In Iraq Reported Crippled

    Washington Post Staff Writers
    Monday, October 15, 2007;

The U.S. military believes it has dealt devastating and perhaps irreversible blows to al-Qaeda in Iraq in recent months, leading some generals to advocate a declaration of victory over the group, which the Bush administration has long described as the most lethal U.S. adversary in Iraq.

There is widespread agreement that AQI has suffered major blows over the past three months. Among the indicators cited is a sharp drop in suicide bombings, the group's signature attack, from more than 60 in January to around 30 a month since July. Captures and interrogations of AQI leaders over the summer had what a senior military intelligence official called a "cascade effect," leading to other killings and captures. The flow of foreign fighters through Syria into Iraq has also diminished, although officials are unsure of the reason and are concerned that the broader al-Qaeda network may be diverting new recruits to Afghanistan and elsewhere.

The deployment of more U.S. and Iraqi forces into AQI strongholds in Anbar province and the Baghdad area, as well as the recruitment of Sunni tribal fighters to combat AQI operatives in those locations, has helped to deprive the militants of a secure base of operations, U.S. military officials said. They are less and less coordinated, more and more fragmented," Lt. Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, the second-ranking U.S. commander in Iraq, said recently. Describing frayed support structures and supply lines, Odierno estimated that the group's capabilities have been "degraded" by 60 to 70 percent since the beginning of the year.

Lt. Gen. Stanley McChrystal, chief of the Joint Special Operations Command's operations in Iraq, is the chief promoter of a victory declaration and believes that AQI has been all but eliminated, the military intelligence official said. But Adm. William J. Fallon, the chief of the U.S. Central Command, which oversees Iraq and the rest of the Middle East, is urging restraint, the official said. The military intelligence official, like others interviewed for this report, refused to speak on the record about Iraq assessments and strategy.

Senior U.S. commanders on the ground, including Gen. David H. Petraeus, the head of U.S. forces in Iraq, have long complained that the Central Command, along with the CIA, is too negative in its analyses. On this issue, however, Petraeus agrees with Fallon, the military intelligence official said.

60 TALIBAN KILLED along Pakistan border

    From Syed Mohsin Naqvi

LAHORE, Pakistan (CNN) -- Two days of heavy fighting between Pakistani troops and Taliban and al Qaeda militants near the rugged border with Afghanistan has left dozens dead on both sides, an army spokesman said Monday.

    art.children.treat.afp.jpg

Children receive treatment on Monday at a hospital in Bannu following fighting between soldiers and militants.

Pakistani soldiers backed by helicopter gunships launched a massive operation Sunday in North Waziristan, part of the country's largely lawless tribal areas.

Heavy fighting continued into Monday, with 60 militants reported dead, Maj. Gen. Waheed Arshad said.

More than 50 Pakistani troops have died since the operation began, Arshad said. The bodies of 30 of those troops have been recovered, he said. ( MISSING MAY HAVE DESERTED OR DEFECTED )

The new push follows recent attacks on Pakistani security forces and the breakdown over the summer of a cease-fire between the Islamabad government and tribal leaders.

U.S. intelligence officials say the cease-fire gave al Qaeda a new safe haven in the tribal region.

    Caps above mine.
Patki news services tend to down play number of Taliban or al Qaeda killed and over state the number of Patki troops dead. Often they will state total number deaths, with no break down between insurgent and government troops. And the tend to use the word "dead " rather than "killed". As one denotes facts, dead, while the other denotes actions, killed.

Patki news semantics are very exacting and aim for neutrality as they consider all killed on both sides as Pakistanis first and government or insurgents second.

There is a taste of killing your enemy without offending them culture.

How does all this tie into "al qaeda's Psyops for Patki"

Bin Laden losing control of Al Qaeda?

Bin Laden losing control of Al Qaeda?

By Sami Yousafzai and Ron Moreau

According to a Taliban liaison officer with Al Qaeda, bin Laden recently learned that a faction within his own organistion had been conspiring to sideline him

LONELY, marginalisd and suddenly suspicious that he was losing his grip over the organistion he helped create, Osama bin Laden finally decided that enough was enough. At least that’s the explanation sources close to him are giving for why, after three long years of silence, the Qaeda leader has released one video and two audiotapes in the past month, including last week’s audio message calling for a jihad against Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. According to Omar Farooqi, a Taliban liaison officer with Al Qaeda, bin Laden recently learned that a faction within his own organistion had been conspiring to sideline him, insisting-unnecessarily, bin Laden now believes-that he remain secluded for security reasons. CIA officials told Newsweek they could neither confirm nor reject the theory.

Bin Laden had long been chafing at this imposed gag order, says Farooqi, who learned from Sheik Saeed, Al Qaeda’s senior leader in Afghanistan, and other top operatives that bin Laden became “extremely upset” earlier this year when he discovered that some of his lieutenants feared he was dead. Bin Laden has always loved talking to the media-he used to infuriate his onetime protector, Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar, by holding press conferences-and, according to Farooqi, bin Laden had only reluctantly gone along with the advice that his safety required absolute silence.

Farooqi refused to say which faction bin Laden believes is responsible for the so-called conspiracy, though several Taliban sources pointed to Ayman Al-Zawahiri, bin Laden’s deputy, suggesting that he might have been trying to solidify his own authority. This summer Farooqi and other Taliban sources told Newsweek that a split had emerged in Al Qaeda between the organistion’s powerful Egyptian faction, led by Zawahiri, and its Libyan wing over jihadist strategy. Ever since the 2001 collapse of the Taliban, Zawahiri has been plotting to kill his nemesis, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, narrowly missing twice in 2003. But the Libyans, led by Abu Yahya al-Libi, had argued that Al Qaeda’s resources should be focused on supporting insurgents in Afghanistan and Iraq and fomenting terrorism in the West.

The Egyptian-Libyan feud may now be history, though, thanks to Musharraf’s decision in July to storm the radical Red Mosque in the heart of Islamabad, during which the mosque’s radical leader Abdul Rashid Ghazi was killed. Within days, Zawahiri issued a video calling on Pakistanis to “revolt”.

Soon afterward, al-Libi followed suit. Even bin Laden, who had never before called on Pakistanis to rise up against Musharraf, did so in his latest audiotape. Despite the unity over Musharraf, though, there is still plenty of talk within Al Qaeda over Zawahiri’s grip on resources.

And what about those who had tried to sideline bin Laden? With Osama seemingly back in charge, they can only support him, at least for now. courtesy newsweek..

    More evidence Binny Laden DEAD

    Laden 'sidelined' within Al-Qaeda

    Agencies

London, Sept 16: Osama bin Laden has been sidelined by his followers and has no longer any control over the Al-Qaeda terror network, according to intelligence officials in Britain and the US.

Instead, his deputy has seized control and rebuilt the terror network into an organisation capable of launching complex attacks in Britain and America, a newspaper reported in London on Sunday, quoting the unnamed officials as saying.

According to them, bin Laden has not chaired a meeting of Al-Qaeda's ruling shura or council in more than two years. "Ayman al-Zawahiri, bin Laden's number two, has rebuilt the terror network since the Afghan war in 2001."

    HE IS DEAD...FAKE VIDEO.

"Al-Qaeda under al-Zawahiri's direction has promoted a new generation of leaders to the highest echelons of the shura, a group of 20 to 30 leaders who govern operations, finance and religious fatwahs."

"The guys on the subs' bench are now in the first XI. They have stopped using mobile phones to talk to each other, which has made it more difficult to find them," a former British intelligence officer said.

Both British and American intelligence officials said that a network of terrorist cells, funded, controlled and supported by al-Qaeda's central command, based in the lawless tribal areas of Pakistan, was in place again.

In fact, Al-Zawahiri's task has been made easier as not a single prominent Al-Qaeda leader has been captured since March 2006, nearly 18 months ago, according to them.

Citing information gathered by Pakistani intelligence, Bruce Hoffman, a member of the US Military Academy's Combating Terrorism Centre, told the newspaper, "Bin Laden is the brand name but Al-Zawahiri is the grand-strategist.

"He has taken control of Al-Qaeda. Despite the new video (released this month), bin Laden has ceased to be a major force in decision-making and propaganda effort."

A CAREFUL REVIEW OF THE TAPES SHOWS BINNY HAS NOT MADE A THREAT IN OVER 2 YRS.

HE MAYBE IN A COUNTRY THAT HAS GRANTED HIM EXILE IF HE DID NOT RUN AQ OR THREATEN ??

KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan police and foreign forces killed around 60 suspected Taliban fighters, many in the region where the insurgents recently released a group of South Korean church workers

Police attacked a group of Taliban late Friday who were planning to strike security forces in the central Afghan province of Ghazni, killing 18 and arresting six others, said provincial police Gen. Ali Shah Ahmadai.

southern Helmand province on Friday, a combined police and U.S.-led coalition patrol came under attack with mortar, rocket-propelled grenade and small-arms fire. In the fight that ensued, "almost two dozen" insurgents were killed, the coalition said in a statement Saturday.

U.S.-led troops and Afghan security forces also raided compounds late Friday in three villages in the remote Pitigal Valley border region, where intelligence showed that top militant leaders take refuge as they travel between Pakistan and Afghanistan. More than 20 insurgents were killed and 11 others were detained, while officers also discovered a bomb-making factory, the U.S.-led coalition said in a statement.

    UPDATE:
From David Tate, at "the Fourth Rail"
The US troops, augmented by the Afghan National Army and close air support, are targeting "hundreds of foreign fighters" who are well-entrenched.

The showdown has been brewing since February when fragmented militant groups reorganized under the name "Tora Bora Mahaz (Front)." The group is led by Unus Khan, eldest son of the famous mujahadeen leader from the Soviet-occupation, Anvarul Hak Mujahid. The Taliban forces, backed by al Qaeda, began to reoccupy the extensive underground complex that saw heavy fighting during the opening months of the war. By late May, the Taliban had declared the opening of the "Tora Bora front."

The group's first declared attack on Coalition forces came in March when a Marine Special Forces unit was targeted by a complex ambush outside of Jalalabad. The Marines returned fire, killing up to a dozen civilians. The incident precipitated the newly commissioned unit's early departure from the country.

Countering the move, in preparation for the current operation, paratroopers and engineers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team began work on Forward Operating Base Lonestar in Par Wa Agam district in early July. The new FOB, 20 kilometers from the border, overlooks the foothills of the Tora Bora Mountains, where Taliban and al Qaeda operatives are known to cross over from Pakistan.

Incidents in Afghanistan by province from Jan. 1 to August 12. Click to view.

Nangarhar province is one of the most dangerous in Afghanistan. According to data compiled by Vigilant Strategic Services Afghanistan, there were 620 security incidents reported in the province from January 1 through August 12, making Nangarhar second only to Kandahar, with 774 security incidents. Kunar finished third with 613 security incidents over the same time period.

Nangarhar borders Kunar province to the north, which has been the scene of major battles between the Taliban and US and Afghan forces over the past year. Nangarhar also borders the Pakistani tribal districts of Kurram and Khyber to the south, and Bajaur to the east. The TNSM openly run Bajaur province after the Pakistani government negotiated a peace deal in March, while the Taliban maintain a strong influence in Kurram and Khyber..

Why would all these ME countries carry this misleading, old story.

The video is from June 15, 2007, and has been posted all over the net, the video and the news is not new. It seems this is a pathetic attempt to boost insurgent moral, ole Binny is dead.

"Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden is still alive but maintaining a low profile, Afghan warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar said in a latest video release.

"According to my information Osama is still alive," Hekmatyar, a former Afghan prime minister, said in the video aired by Al-Arabiya television late on Sunday.

"It is good" that Bin Laden "does not appear in the media", and "it is wise" that he "does not issue statements or tapes, even after a long while," said the warlord."

It is good he does not appear in the media, it is wise?
    "even after a long time"

This guy isn't a mental giant.

Sure sounds like they are trying to cover up something, they doth protest too much....

Ole Binny is either dead ( HE IS DEAD,Zawahiri's tape WITHOUT BINNY more Proof ) or the advanced stages of cirrhosis, with advanced ascites, multiple parencentesis has left his protien levels below 4 and in a near comatose state unable to communicate. His edema has left him almost unrecognizable, his fingers like huge sausages. Problems with the parencentesis leaking and diuretics not working.

Close friends were able to recognize him.

The last video of Bin Laden was released in late 2004, and the last audio recording was made public in mid-2006.

Thats almost two years without a video and a year with no audio.

There is something going on,and its bad for Binny and good for the rest of the world.

It would also indicate they think its bad for the Islamofascists moral to disclose the details of his condition or death, either way he dies in bed. NOT a martyr.

    No 72 virgins for Binny.

Would USA let him RIP no,
USA would dig him up to test his DNA.

Binny has transposed jahid to Hirabah, and explain it as an Islamic obligation.

The big picture is to form a caliphate from Spain to Northern Africa to the middle East and into Russia, a kind of Taliban control of Islamic life. This is a political movement masquerading as an Islamic cause.

Binny's death sure would take AQ down a notch.

    not RIP
    but
    BIH
    burn in hell.
