    Skype & Taliban

Taliban using Skype phones to dodge MI6

    By GLEN OWEN
Last updated at 11:10 PM on 13th September 2008

Taliban fighters targeting British troops in Afghanistan are using the latest ‘internet phones’ to evade detection by MI6, security sources said last night.

Skype, a popular piece of consumer software that allows free calls to be made over the web, has been adopted by insurgents to communicate with cells strung out across the country.

Unlike traditional mobile calls, which can be monitored by RAF Nimrod spy planes, Skype calls – the commercial application of a technology called Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) – are heavily encrypted.

    Exclusive: Nuclear Paradigm Intel
    By Gerald:
    Internet Anthropologist Think Tank
    Sept 13, 08

Internet Anthropologist Think Tank has doubts about Zawahir's rant against Iran.

    Paradigm Intel suggest a ruse.

Iran knows the West will not allow them to develop a nuke.
And Iran does have connections to al Qaeda.

al Qaeda has developed a new interest in nuclear materials,
Our Post: Al Qaeda has nuclear ambitions.
and on Sept 12, 08 our BSU's continue to track al Qaeda research on the
    net about nuclear libraries.

Nuclear technicians should be wary of terrorist posing as reporters asking
questions about the deployment of dirty bombs.

As Iran knows an attack is coming on their nuke facilities, paradigm Intel
suggest a fall back position where they arm al Qaeda with nuclear materials.

And Zawahir's rant against Iran distances Iran from any al Qaeda dirty bombs,
    plausible denial.

Iran's suicidal bent stems from the desire to bring on the 13 Imam.

    Iran will push the button.

    Other intel fits the paradigm:

Iran diverts UF6 uranium from Isfahan to boost covert military nuclear project

Missing from Isfahan: 50-60 tons of uranium

Nuclear watchdog experts have found 50-60 tons of uranium, enough to produce five or six nuclear bombs, missing from Iran’s main nuclear production facility at Isfahan. The disappearance was discovered at the final stage of the production process, where UF6, uranium in gas form is stored, by the only CCTV Iran allowed the International Atomic Energy Agency to install at Isfahan.

US satellites have also identified a number of suspicious sites, not declared to UN inspectors.

USA's policy against the Taliban and al Qaeda is working.
Attriting top level C2 forces is working. Forcing leadership
down into second and third level cadre, Weakens command and control
hurts morale, and increases the probability of unsucessfull operations.
Paradigm suggest the faster they hit terrorist leaders the lower probability of
    a dirty bomb attack.

Exclusive Translation: Intercepted Letters from al-Qaeda Leaders Shed Light on State of Network in Iraq

    By Daveed Gartenstein-Ross

Yesterday, Center for Terrorism Research (CTR) adjunct fellow Bill Roggio posted an important report at the Long War Journal. He noted that a series of letters intercepted by Multinational Forces-Iraq—letters that chronicle the communications between al-Qaeda deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Ayyub al-Masri, and Islamic State of Iraq leader Abu Omar al-Baghdadi—sheds light on how “Al Qaeda’s senior leadership has lost confidence in its commander in Iraq and views the situation in the country as dire.” These communications highlight divisions in the organization, the failures in its leadership, and problems with communications and propaganda efforts.

Today the Center for Terrorism Research provides an exclusive translation of these important documents, courtesy of CTR research fellow Tony Badran. We believe that this translation constitutes an important primary document for understanding the current state of the al-Qaeda network inside Iraq. To see the translation, click here.

    Bin Laden's "psychological profile"

    Bin Laden's "psychological profile", 9.14.03 ( updated 9.12.08 )

    By Gerald;
    Internet Anthropologist Think Tank

O'samma Bin Laden's biggest weakness is his ego driven objectives. His primary motive is Ego aggrandizement of himself and promotion of his image. He has fed his ego desire by self- promotions from Construction company president to a General of the Mujeden fighting the Russians. The only way for him to obtain this recognition was to buy it. He bought his way into the war with the Russians. He bought his way into the Afghan government. He bought his way into religion by paying Mullahs. And continues to buy his way into his terrorism war The CIA fed this personality cult early in his war efforts in Afghanistan with praise, money, materials and secret war medals. This may have fed his Napoleon/Mohammad complex. “unprincipled narcissist” syndrome, This composite character complex combines the narcissist’s arrogant sense of self-worth, exploitative indifference to the welfare of others, and grandiose expectation of special recognition with the antisocial personality’s self-aggrandizement, deficient social conscience, and disregard for the rights of others.
A major implication of the study is that bin Laden does not fit the profile of the highly conscientious, closed-minded religious fundamentalist, nor that of the religious martyr who combines these qualities with devout, self-sacrificing features; rather, it suggests that bin Laden is adept at exploiting Islamic fundamentalism in the service of his own ambition and personal dreams of glory. )

As a young wealthy businessman, he and some of his family learned to bend and warp Islam ism and the Koran to support their coruption and over billing in order to support their corrupt business interests. Being number 17 son of 50 some children it was hard to stand out and be recognized. He picked up a habit for downer drugs in Dubai as a teenager. The downers kept him reserved and quite which was mis-interrupted as wisdom and humility instead of just being high.

This desire to be noticed and recognized by his father has driven him to more and more extreme devises. After his father died he transferred this need to be recognized to his peer group. The first instance of this peer recognition and desire to stand out was achieved when he set up safe houses and a construction business in Afghanistan. The safe houses were for the "Freedom Fighters" who came to Afghanistan to fight Russians. With his financial support he was able to make himself a General in this war. The CIA taught him how to set up training camps and how to successfully perform Guerrilla and a new type of warfare against the Russians.

Bin Ladens up bringing as a warped privileged wealthy Arab predisposes him to view the poor as ignorant servants to be manipulated by corrupting the Koran and buying mullahs. He has the education, training and money to brainwash the poor, uneducated, abused, and religious zealots with sex, drugs, money and by twisting Islamism to get them to perform suicide bombings. He has set up a "gang" mentality for these abused people. With Bin Laden they feel a false sense of family and belonging, a sense of fake empowerment, false as they will soon be dead and expect paradise and 72 virgins hence they give up all power to Bin Laden. While he mouths and promotes them as martyrs he privately views them as fools, ignorant, expendable cannon fodder to promote his cult of personality. Bin Laden further derives pleasure from his ability to remotely manipulate these abused into suicide with just his personality cult. He protects his family and councils his sons against martyr operations contrary to his public stance on suicide for others.

His cult of personality is to promote himself as another Mohammad type, he views himself as a prophet.. He has replaced wealth, money and creature comforts with ego driven obsession for recognition. The worse his physical conditions the stronger his ego fulfillment derived from guilt relief and recognition for his sacrifices. These small sacrifices enable him to rationalize killing women, children and bombing marlket places and Mosques. He will and has turned on any and all who deny him this recognition, family even his own home state and especially America. He will turn against Islamism if it denies him. Al Jezzera plays into his obsession with extensive TV and press coverage.

He will support any action that furthers this "Mohammad personality disorder" obsession. The trigger for the attacks on the USA started when Saddam invaded Kuwait. This was Bin Laden's big chance to fulfill his "Mohammad Complex" and be the savior of the Arab world. He had offered his services to drive Saddam out and feed his ego complex and receive the recognition he wanted as the one who saved Saudi Arabia. He was rebuffed and America defended Saudi Arabia and drove Saddam out. Because America interfered with his recognition and interrupted his delusions of his "Mohammad Complex" America became his enemy and target of his terrorist attacks.

Exposure of his true feelings about these so called martyrs, his bribing mullahs and close association with the CIA and extensive use of the CIA methods would have extensive impact on his ability to recruit "martyrs. The more his "Mohammad complex" and personality cult is exposed the less control he will have over these terrorist, and the less likely they will be to commit suicide to promote his personality cult.

He will identify Iraq as a target of opportunity, with US targets and near by his home base. We should use this situation as a chance to attract terrorists away from American shores and into traps and ambushes with false "soft targets" or using cutouts and illegals.

Bin Ladens, "Mohammad Complex", must be recognized as a mental illness in the Arab world, and then Arabs can distance him from religion and the Koran. This will turn him against the clerics and mullahs. This allows them to openly expose his "terrorism" as a mental illness, and his followers recognized as mental and religious deficients. History teaches us that terrorism is a poor tool for social change, O'Sama's delusional front, al Qaeda is for his cult of personality and his "Mohammad Complex".

Exposing his true motives the "MC" not social change, will cause him to fall out of favor with his followers who have been duped and brainwashed. Without finical support and disbelief in Bin Laden's twisted Mohammad complex ideology will put his "gang" schools and training camps at a cultural dis-advantage as Islam recognizes his mental instability, and false religious teachings.

Further updates as we are released to publisn info. G ( from our story on 9.3.08 )
    Got release. G
    OK to relea
There was an earlier raid 9/1/08 up in Bajaur after Z & wife & family. That raid is still confidential as we are still debriefing and extracting some of the team.

We have a lot of SOF and SF teams out and they are all very busy so there are multiple raids in planning at all time. SF teams we can generally report on results. SOF teams use TF and TA (infil/exfil) platforms and are much more complex and need more follow-on and assessment security. So I wait for my sources to clear the mission status first

This was a (infil/exfil) Special Operations Force op, not Special Forces. Terrain Following, Terrain Avoidance, MC-130 Combat Talons and MH-53J Pave Low III, from Air Force Special Operations Command. Full prejudice ROE, we went in shooting, op is labeled "successful".

Big Z's wife may not b e dead but a prisioner, ( Our exclusive )
we keep picking up background noise and chatter.

    Will advise as situation clears.

Proof USA is loosing the Information War.

World in denial on al-Qaeda and 9/11

No consensus on masterminds of 9/11 — Poll

Almost one-fourth of Germans believe the US was behind 9/11

Al-Qaida not universally blamed for 9/11

If al Qaeda had been around during WWII their would be doubt about the
    Japanese involvement in Pearl Harbor.

Something as fundamental as the perps if 911, is still at question years later?
al qaeda and Bin Laden himself on video tape admitted
responsibility for 911, and the World is not sure?

This conspiracy theory points to the failure of America in the
Info war. And Paradigm Intel points to the probability of other
lesser propaganda being accepted as the truth.

This sucessful propaganda effort points to prolonged insurgent activity
based on this failure to win the Info WAR.

Hell even Nixon couldn't hide a simple burglary with the help of the
USA Attorney General on board with the cover up, and the tacit control of the
FBI in the investigation. Even then Deepthroat was an FBI agent much to credit to the FBI
    Troops.

Clinton couldn't keep a little head quiet, even with the threat of Impeachment.

And now some believe the USA could keep secret mass murder in a public
    attack 911 and perfectly timed???
    Inviloving thousands of co-conspirators.

What has happened to critical thinking?

The terrorist Info war is years ahead of USA efforts.
The shame of this condition is the massive capability of the USA
as the worlds foremost media experts.

A man on the run in a cave is defeating the USA in a media war???

Al Qaeda proves the USA can no longer ignore what the world thinks
about America and needs to confront the lies and propaganda.

Where is the block buster film about the US heros in the GWOT?

Where is the film about USA freeing the masses from disgusting
control of despots like Saddam and the Taliban?

Where are the films about the atrocities and REAL torture by al Qaeda and the Taliban?
They behead people without a trial, kill women and children, bomb market places and Mosques.

Have and are seeking nuclear materials, which even we at Internet Anthropologist Think Tank
    have traced with our BSU.

    Al Qaeda has nuclear ambitions.

al Qaeda and the Taliban are disgusting henchmen of Satan, filthy
criminals bastardizing Islam and with out any Honor.

Japan attacked USA and killed fewer Americans than al Qaeda
and USA used Nukes on Japan.

What did Bin Laden and the rest of the world expect from an attack
bigger than the attack on Pear Harbor?

USA will hunt al Qaeda, every one unto death to hell and back.

USA or Paki forces has killed one if Zawahiri's wifes ( not clear who did strike. ) in an attempt to kill him.

Haqqani's wife was killed, he is the one Internet Anthropologist believe has been harboring Binny. This attempt to kill Haqqani wasn't a surprise to him USA has hit 5 of his training camps
    in the past 10 days.

The USA Military has no Internet force to attempt to influence the hearts and minds like the Terrorist do. They have propaganda sites in all the important languages, Urdu, Pashto, etc.
The only force online to even come close to providing this level of influence the Airforce,
    was derailed.

In the mean time the terrorist continue to covert hearts and minds with stupid lies link the 911
conspiracy, and convert people to terrorism which USA is killing.
Which is more expensive and less effective than converting hearts and minds to critical accurate thinking with an effective "Social Change Engine" .

The masters of social media and advertising have lost the info war to a sick, deranged man hiding in a cave. ( If he is still alive. )

    Bin laden, comatose:

The GWOT is still being fought like the last war, when it comes to propaganda and the Info
    war.

The world Press are an embarrassment, like the NYT leaking the story about USA being able to
bug Binnys cell phone, they should have been charged with treason, to give the enemy critical support and Intel in a time of war, is seditious.
The blood of many Americans are on their hands.

And USA is funding both sides of the GWOT through oil purchases and drugs.

And both problems can be mitigated.
Conversion to natural gas ( USA has 150 year supply, Which America owns ) for American cars, at about $1.50 a Gallon vs Middle East oil at almost $4 a gallon.
    Pickens pushes energy autonomy

And the Drug war failure, and a failed drug war paradigm.
There are options, methods to mitigate this source of funds.

The US Military needs to stop fearing the WWW and learn
to master its many functions in an all out push to beat the Terrorist
    in their successful information war.

The terrorist are not geniuses but pushed to the Internet as their
options were limited, and they had no other choices.
See our answers 10 Q about al Qaeda. By World Defense Review (WDR).

Military actions alone will not end the terrorist problem.
USA has options, methods and the ability to defeat this movement/ Ideology.
But the leadership or knowledge or foresight seems to be lacking.
The Paradigms are known but have yet to be applied.

    Iran inflation crushing, new currency

    Toman Iran's New Currency
    09/09/2008

The central bank of Iran is planning to replace the rial with toman by removing three zeros from the end.

The rial has been used as Iran’s official national currency since 1932. However, in more recent years, the term “toman” has replaced the rial in daily practice as an unofficial unit.

A toman, in its current form, is worth 10 rials, but now the central bank plans to slash 3 zeroes off the unit - or in other words 4 zeros - and turn into the country official currency. [In short, a 10,000 rial bank note, worth a little over 1 US dollar, will be converted into one toman.]

Rahman Malik, the Interior Security Adviser to the Pakistani Prime Minister, has said that an opportunity to nab Al-Qaeda’s Deputy Leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri was lost but his wife was killed during a military action, the Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Nawa-i-Waqt reported.

According to the report, Rahman Malik said that Pakistani security forces had got definite information about the presence of Ayman Al-Zawahiri in Pakistan’s tribal district of Mohmand Agency.

According to the report, he said: ‘‘At one point, the security forces had even traced the presence of Ayman Al-Zawahiri [in Mohmand Agency].’’ Rahman Malik did not say when and how the opportunity to nab Ayman Al-Zawahiri was lost, but he confirmed that Al-Zawahiri’s wife was killed in the military action that followed.

    Banks threat to GWOT

By Gerald: Internet Anthropologist Think Tank
    9.10.08
The western (front) side of the United States ...Image via Wikipedia
How can Banks, the ones charging criminal interest rates 33% to 99%, and underwriting fraudulent and faked housing loans hurt the GWOT?

My garage mechanic was moonlighting as a loan broker, he fills out paper work, and it is moved to bank whom approves loan and sells it to Fannie and Freddie etal.

The banks and morgage sections wrap these faux loans to sell to government agencys, who get stuck with the defaults and foreclosures, and let the Government bail out the Gov agencys, Fannie May ti the tune of $200 billion to start. The big banks have become a legal criminal enterprise thru their lobbyists. And the tax payers get stuck with a $200 billion + fraud bill.

And whon is pressuring the US Government to bail out Freddie and Fanny?
China they bought Freddie and Fanny bonds, they are one of the biggest buyers.
The trade balance ( mostly from Walmart ) cash is converted into American bonds.
And Freddie and Fanny pay better than Treasury's.

Of course the Banks don't care who gets stuck with the losses, as long as they make HUGE profits on criminal enterprise LEGALLY. And the politicians bought by the Banks Lobbyists
keep getting thier election coffers filled, also legally.

Some mortgage arms were not smart enough to package the loans and sell the to the government and held them, taking the full brunt of the defaults.

LEHMAN: Suffers Q3 loss of $3.9B

Lehman said it will sell about $4 billion of its British residential mortgage portfolio, cutting its exposure dramatically.

The company said its preliminary third-quarter loss was about $3.9 billion ($5.92 a diluted share), compared to a profit of $887 million ($1.54 a diluted share) in the third quarter of fiscal 2007.

"The net loss was driven primarily by gross mark-to-market adjustments stemming from writedowns on commercial and residential mortgage and real estate assets," it said.
Shares in Lehman, the fourth-largest investment bank in the U.S., closed Tuesday at $7.79, down from a 52-week high of $67.73.

    FROM $68 TO $8 IN A YEAR.

At least Lehman's share holders are eating the losses, they didn't seem to understand the scam.

So how does this hurt the GWOT?
Adding a $200 billion bail out for Banking fraud to the the National debt HURTS.
Money that could be used for soc sec. or what ever, instead is going to cover up the banking
fraud and line the pockets of BIG Banks charging 33% usury interest rates.
They even changed the bankruptcy laws making it easier to go after the 33% and 99% compounding interest rates, by their own admissions the admit of gross collections only 1/3
is principal the rest is interest in collection suits.

The old Mafia just didn't have as good lobbyists as the new big Banks.

The NEW MAFIA, big Banks putting it to the tax payers once again and getting away with it.
Their lobbyist once again prove USA has the best politicians money can buy,

    Million beggars Invade Ramazan.

Karachi, a beggar's paradise, continues to provide for many

    * 1 million beggars have arrived in city for Ramazan package, says Rana Asif

    By Irfan Aligi

KARACHI: Professional beggars, mostly women and children, can be seen in the streets and shopping centers of Karachi throughout the year but their number increases greatly in the holy month of Ramazan.

There are 360 beggar families, called Badree, permanently settled in Jamshed Town in Chanesar Goth. The Badree community, whose prime business is beggary and prostitution, can also be found in Quetta and Rohri. Moreover, there are more than 250 huts of another group of beggars, commonly known as 'Mangarr' (Seraiki for beggar), set up on encroached land opposite the University of Karachi.

There are around 60 Burmese and Bengali colonies in the city, with a population of approximately 1.5 million. The colonies are spread from Machhar Colony to Ibrahim Hyderi, Teen Hatti to Orangi Town and Korangi to 100 Quarters. A majority of these people are linked to the fishery and textile industry but when unemployed, they resort to begging, mostly in the vicinity of Jama Cloth Market and the various shrines of the city, including the shrines of Abdullah Shah Ghazi and Alam Shah. Other areas frequented by the residents of these colonies include Super Market, Clifton, Hyderi Market, North Nazimabad, Ayesha Manzil, Water Pump in Federal B Area and Abul Hassan Esphahani Road in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

To make matters worse, a good number of Afghan immigrants have settled around Sohrab Goth, Nusrat Bhutto Colony, Banaras Chowk, Landhi Fisher Colony, Shireen Jinnah Colony, Khurkar Chowrangi and Abdullah Shah Ghazi's tomb. Talking to Daily Times, Initiator Human Development Foundation (IHDF) President Rana Asif Habib said that normally there are around 100,000 beggars in the city but during Ramazan, the average number of beggars surpasses one million.

A majority of the beggars hail from Southern Punjab, including Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Khanpur Katora, Bahawalpur and Sadiqabad. These beggars who have occupied areas from NIPA Chowrangi to Hassan Square in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town are covertly involved in prostitution as well. The beggars operate in an organized manner and have lords who shelter them from the police and government authorities. For example, Bada Babu is in charge of the beggars of Burns Road, while Chota Multani and Arshad Gujranwalia are in charge of other areas.

According to Habib, Essa Nagri is the beauty parlor of beggars. Make-up experts prepare children and women with burnt faces and other deformities, helping them earn around Rs 2,000 a day. "These beggars are also involved in child abduction, as are the snake charmers of Manghopir. Hijrat Colony and Sultanabad are the areas where infants are hired on a daily basis by women. Each infant is hired for Rs 500 daily and enables the women to easily make around Rs 1,500 to 2,000 daily," he added.

Furthermore, sale of women is also a thriving business in Machhar Colony. Recently, Tufail alias Kulli's mother and sister were sold to Imam Mooli of the Qazi Ahmed area in Nawabshah for Rs 50,000. Mooli had bought them to work at his cattle yard but married Tufail's mother, with Nanoo Dallal preparing their Nikah papers for Rs 10,000. "Although, Tufail's mother escaped and returned to Machhar Colony but her daughter is still with Mooli," said Habib.

    ........

The beggarwomen of Essa Nagri also sell their sons to public transport drivers for around Rs 300 to Rs 500 for a night. These sodomites are provided with rooms and normally, four to five drivers and conductors use the child for the whole night, distributing the expenses equally. It is also a well known fact that the beggars and the area police share an understanding, with the SHO's agent collecting around Rs 300 to Rs 500 daily. Areas are auctioned and beggars from other areas are banned from entering the areas of other beggars and in case any outsider is found, he or she is handed over to the police.

According to Ansar Burney Welfare Trust (ABWT) Vice Chairman Sarim Burney, beggary has become an international issue today. "Human traffickers are engaged in sending poor and crippled people to Middle East countries, promising them high incomes. ABWT has brought back many children from Saudi Arabia, including a 12-year-old girl, S, of Rahim Yar Khan. She was sent to Saudi Arabia and was told to sit outside a mosque and beg for charity," said Burney.

Similarly, Asad, a handicapped boy, was also sent to Saudi Arabia and forced to beg outside a mosque. Though, he earned around 250 to 350 Saudi Riyals per day, the agents did not give a single penny to Asad's family. ABWT has provided the boy with a three-wheeler and helped him set up a public call office (PCO) in the vicinity of the city courts.

"Begging is an easy source of income and so eunuchs have also pounded the city. Basically, it is the duty of government to take concrete steps for the eradication of this social evil. Those who give these beggars money are unintentionally promoting beggary," commented Burney. A professional beggar told Daily Times that he gets between Rs 800 to 2,000 per day. "Public transport is one of the best places, as women are easily motivated to donate. The only condition that the transporters have is that the beggars should come across as a cleric or a student of a religious seminary," he said.

    .....................

Recently, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan had planned an eradication drive and was also looking to set up reform schools for beggars in Ojha Medical Centre.

Terror groups developing 'dirty bomb', say security chiefs.

Islamist terrorists have stepped up their efforts to develop a "dirty" bomb for use against Western targets, senior Western security sources have told The Daily Telegraph.

    Fusion centers

The Success of the Fusion Strategy in Counterterror Operations
    By Douglas Farah

After a few years in the wilderness, the U.S. military and its allies in other parts of the world have honed the cutting edge of a significant series of steps that are yielding highly successful results in combatting non-state armed groups-including terrorists, not just in Iraq but in Colombia and elsewhere.

The Washington Post's recent story on the "fusion cells" gets at the core of the program: The integration and blending of field intelligence (human and signal) with the ability to act rapidly on that information.

The NSA targeted its listening operations, the Treasury Department began tracing anything to do with money and Special Operations Forces, with the help of the latest technology and imaging capabilities, carry out the operations. This website was the first media outlet to discuss the operations of the joint DoD-Treasury "threat finance" cell unit in Baghdad in posts last November 2 and again on November 20, and the first publicly available monograph or study of terrorist financing by the Defense Department was released on October 12 of last year. "Threat finance" units are now operational in each of the military commands.

"To me, it's not just war-fighting now but in the future," Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the newspaper. "It's been the synergy, it's been the integration that has had such an impact."

One of the keys has been the ability, over time, to force the sharing of a range of skills in a single unit, so that the traditional segregation and stove pipes have ended. The value of tracing even useless-looking information, particularly from the "pocket litter" of those captured or killed, has proved itself on many occasions. ( Most agencys don't desire public info, the CIA reporting form for example on their web site doesn't even work. G)

While this is integration is a fact at the level of these small task forces, it remains far from accomplished on broad level. ( Our Intel terrorist IPs and evidence has been reported to appropriate agencys, and we track the news to see results, and we preserve an encrypted log on what we have reported to whom. G ) In fact, much of the upper tiers of the intelligence community are just as resistant Gto change and perhaps less inclined to share intelligence than 9-11.

But the success of fusing all elements of intelligence and force to capture often elusive enemies is not just evident in Iraq. In its own way, the Colombian military and policy have been on the cutting edge of the program in combating the FARC. My full blog is here.

    Pissed off wrong guys.

    Sun, Sep 7th, 2008 6:16 pm BdST
Dhaka, Sept 7 (bdnews24.com)—Rapid Action Battalion have arrested four people, including the RAB website hacker Shahee Mirza.

Saboteurs hacked into the RAB website (www.rab.gov.bd) Friday night.

RAB media cell director Abul Kalam Azad told bdnews24.com that they picked up four persons from a Mirpur residence Saturday night. The arrestees claimed they were students of a private institution.

Shahee, 'leader' of the arrested youths, confessed to their hacking other sites belonging to different organisations.

Abul Kalam Azad said RAB would hold a press briefing at its headquarters later in the day.

As people entered the website of the elite security force Friday night, they found the words 'Hacked by Shahee_Mirza' posted there.

The hacker alleged that the government had not taken sufficient steps for the development of IT in the country, though it had passed laws to prevent cyber crimes.

Hacker Shahee claimed in the message he left on the site: "You don't know what cyber security is and you don't know how to protect yourselves either."

"Hackers are no criminals, but they happen to be at least ten times better than your (RAB) experts. You guys can't even perceive how meritorious we are," the young hacker said.

Guess he's eating his words now. crunch crunch
Careful who you piss off. They were arrested in less than 24 hrs.

    Ten Questions about al Qaeda

World Defense Review (WDR) 10 questions about al Qaeda

At the eve of the this year's anniversary of 9/11, World Defense Review (WDR) conducted an interview with me on the current debate about al Qaeda and its Jihadi nebulous. The conversation took place with Thomas Smith, military expert and writer, based on themes raised by an article published in el Publico, a daily in Portugal and in other publications. The Ten questions asked by WDR focused on the central issue of how to analyze the war with al Qaeda, hence on the conclusions drawn in the ongoing debate within the expert, academic and political communities. My answers to the Ten Questions are certainly not exhaustive but tried to address the general directions of the current studies provided by a number of think tanks and colleagues in the field. Based on my more comprehensive analysis covered by my last three books, the points addressed the essence of the conflict with the Jihadists, the accuracy of identification of the ideology and the movement, and the strategic reasons for dissidence within the Jihadi realm. These remarks are a contribution to the discussion which is taking place during this 7th anniversary of the attacks of September 11.

While World Defense Review did not ask our think tank these questions, we think we have something to add.
DR. WALID PHARES: answers to these questions can be found here. Link

Ten Questions about al Qaeda and its Jihadi nebulous

Less than two weeks from the 7th anniversary of the most horrific terrorist attack on American soil, Middle East terrorism expert Dr. Walid Phares shares his thoughts on recent reports issued by a variety of analysts and think tanks, which are suggesting - among other things - the global war on terror should be prosecuted not as a war, but as an international campaign against criminals: An approach Phares believes is a recipe for failure.

Phares also describes and explains the evolving strategic trends within the Jihadist movement worldwide, as well as the present state of Al Qaeda, the Jihadist ideology, the terror forces that subscribe to that ideology, and the approaches Phares believes may be taken by the next U.S. president.

Director of the Future of Terrorism Project at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, Phares is a visiting scholar at the European Foundation for Democracy and an advisor to the TransAtlantic Legislative Group on Terrorism. He is the author of The Confrontation: Winning the War against Future Jihad, the third book in his series examining international terrorism and the dynamics that fuel it.

Phares has been following and analyzing the rise of the Salafi and Khomeinist movements for nearly 30 years, and has been predicting the strategic rise of Jihadism since the end of the Cold War. Link

    Our (WDR) Q&A follows:

    W. THOMAS SMITH JR.: Over the past two-plus months, analysts and commentators have posited that Al-Qaeda (both the command-and-control nucleus and the - often disconnected elements of the - broader network) has been significantly weakened, perhaps to the point of insignificance. Do we have substantive intelligence indicating such?

IATT: Internet Anthropologist Think Tank answer.

There is good evidence that taking out al Qaeda's cadre leaves them with only second and third tier leadership.

Look around your office how would the effectiveness of your section decline with leadership dropped down to the second or third tier leadership in command in your office?

The element that is allowing the Jahidist movement to regenerate is the Internet and the Info war they are waging almost unopposed.

While the C2 functions have deteriorated and they have become less effective it currently has the ability to regenerate to the level of the charisma of the leader driven by the Info war on the Internet.

SMITH: Some - like author and terrorism researcher Marc Sageman - contend the greatest danger comes from young radicalized Muslims with virtually no connection to Al Qaeda and its leadership. Is this an accurate assertion?

IATT: The terrorist hacker 007 may be the best example of the danger, the ability to shift context and formulate new uses for the WWW and the spread of propaganda to recruit jahiddies remains a unique 6th gen warfare threat.

Irhabi OO7 wasn't a genius but applied simple answer to a new problem, in a new context.

al Qaeda wasn't even aware of the potential of the WWW, Irhabioo7 saw it laying there and applied the WWW in new ways in a new context, developed it and presented it to al Qaeda in a working format.

It is these new uses and contexts that remain the biggest threats.

Imagine the super disassociation/disenfranchised one must feel from the rest of the world and all humans to strap on a suicide bombers vest and blow up not only your self but other innocent children and women even Mosques.

This super disassociation/disenfranchisement is the underlying condition that allows suicide bombers to kill.

This super disassociation/disenfranchisement overrides BASIC human instincts. Every suicide bomber has SOME reservations, Suicide runs contrary to DNA hard wired into us in the form of self and species preservation, with a history of as much as 10 to 7 million years for the species.

These terrorist take normal jahid, the struggle to lead a good life under the guidance of Islam into

approval to kill women children bomb markets and Mosques. al Qaeda has bastardized jihad.

Al Qaeda has expressed new Nuclear ambitions.

...others talk about Al Qaeda resurging along the Afghan-Pakistan border as evidence that the central element stills exists, and that it still matters. Others argue that this is a more of a Pashtun fight, not Al Qaeda. Do we fully understand how much of what’s happening there has to do with Al Qaeda?

IATT: This is a stragic retreat, from Iraq, where even al Qaeda realize they have lost and been rejected by Islam in Iraq. They have retreated to someplace they feel is safer, the area around the Durand line a actual pashtoon state.

And we have evidence of a move into Lebanon by the C2 elements of al Qaeda. Also a place they feel safe from the West.

SMITH: The recent RAND study by Seth G. Jones and Martin C. Libicki tell as that “terrorists should be perceived and described as criminals, not holy warriors,” and so should be fought through law enforcement and intelligence agencies, not with armies. If so, what should be the strategy? And how is it different from what’s being done?

IATT: We did a piece on this Rand report calling attention to what we saw as errors in the Rand Paradigm.

RAND misses the boat, D+ grade

SMITH: There has been some discussion that the term, “war on terror,” may fall into disuse. Will the next president of the United States continue to use the term to describe the war in which we are clearly involved?

IATT: It has become a question of politics and Semiotics and the GWOT

Police actions will not work if the terror force force exceeds the forces of the police.

If the forces of the terrorist exceed the forces of the police then it is a war action.

The Korean war was called a police action but everyone knew better.

SMITH: In the years since 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan, we’ve been talking about Al Qaeda as if it were a global force, with a reach extending from South Asia to the Maghreb and beyond. Then we’ve heard about Al Qaeda “the label” and “Al Qaedism.” From what we now know, how many of the ideologically sympathizing terrorist groups, from the Philippines to Algeria actually have connections to Al Qaeda and its leaders?

IATT: The connections are very lose knit and few if any communications to al Qaeda. These other movements develop independent of al Qaeda and are adopted as they gain press and news worthiness.

They gain some notoriety aligning with al Qaeda but lose support also.

al Qaeda setting the Internet Paradigm

SMITH: Twenty-or-so years after the birth of Al Qaeda, does it make sense to speak of winners? And is Al-Qaeda winning - even if we’re talking in terms of ideology and not pitched battles - or losing?

IATT: Terrorism is losing as indigenous feel the wrath of the Taliban and al Qaeda and see how they govern, there has always been up risings against them. Afghanistan is a good example.

But the world can ill afford to allow a group/movement with interests in using WMD to the discretion of local police, or even under funded Governments.

al Qaeda is getting smaller and smaller from attrition, but the 911 attack was a small group also and al Qaeda still has Nuclear ambitions.

Taking out the terrorist leaders current and developing will continually reduce effectiveness, but winning the Info war will reduce recruits.

al Qaeda will end when all Islam denounces them.

SMITH: Did the war in Iraq - as did the Jihad in Afghanistan - produce another generation of fighters?

IATT: NO these are the produce of the Internet, The wars sped up the tempo and gave them a focus but did not cause them.

SMITH: What about the increasing recruitment of women?

IATT: Once again it is the result of "only options left", they are simply running out of suicide bombers, ( men ) and have resorted to what is left, if the women run out or get low then they will and have resorted to children.

They have no Honor or integrity.

SMITH: There are some signs of dissension within the ranks of Al Qaeda, as well as indications that Al Qaeda and their leaders enjoy lessening-support in Muslim countries. Did the late Abu Musab al Zarqawi’s cruelty and indiscriminate killings contribute?

IATT: Their have been many holy men, Imams etc that have denounced al Qaeda and the Taliban but once again the West has not exploited these in the almost non-existence Info war on the WWW.

The West lacks an organized approach to the Info war on the Internet.

The terrorist are winning the Info war by default.

The Info war is the basis for recruitment of jahiddies.
