    Sunni/Shia and the score...0

    Sunni/Shia and the score...

    BACKGROUND:

Sunni Muslims are by far the largest denomination of Islam. They are also referred to as Ahlus Sunnah wal-Jamaa'h (Arabic: أهل السنة والجماعة) (people of the example (of Muhammad) and the community) which implies that they are the majority, or Ahl ul-Sunna (Arabic: أهل السنة; "The people of the example (of Muhammad)") for short. The word Sunni comes from the word sunna (Arabic : سنة ), which means the words and actions [1] or example of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. They represent the branch of Islam that accepted the caliphate of Abu Bakr due to him being chosen by majority, thus elections, or Shurah, on the caliphate being the first distinguishing factor in Sunni Islam. Most Sunni lawyers define themselves as those Muslims who are rooted in one of the four orthodox schools of Sunni law (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafii or Hanbali).

    Sunni Islamists

The Sunni Islamists are composed of Iraqis belonging to the Ikhwan movement and/or the Salafi branch of Sunni Islam, who advocate a return to the pure Islam of the time of the Prophet Mohammed and oppose any foreign non-Muslim influence. The beliefs of Salafi Islam are roughly similar to the Wahabi sect of nearby Saudi Arabia (of which Osama bin Laden is a member). One difference is that Salafis in Iraq do not usually condone intolerance towards the Shi'a. Hard-line clerics and remaining underground cells of the Muslim Brotherhood in Iraq have helped provide support for the indigenous militant Islamist movement.
Emerging as the most public face supportive of the insurgency, is the founder of the ultra-conservative Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Hareth al-Dhari.

Foreign insurgents consist mostly of Arab fighters from neighboring countries, who have entered Iraq, primarily through the porous desert borders of Syria and Saudi Arabia, to assist the Iraqi insurgency. Many of these fighters are Wahhabi fundamentalists who see Iraq as the new "field of jihad" in the battle against U.S. forces. It is generally believed that most are freelance fighters, but a few members of Al-Qaeda and the related group Ansar al-Islam are suspected of infiltrating into the Sunni areas of Iraq through the mountainous northeastern border with Iran. The U.S. and its allies point to Jordanian-born Al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi as the key player in this group. Zarqawi was considered the head of an insurgent group called Al-Tawhid Wal-Jihad ("Monotheism and Holy War") until his death on June 7, 2006, which according to U.S. estimates numbers in the low hundreds.

There are signs that an increasing rift is developing between supporters of al-Zarqawi, including both foreign guerrillas and some Iraqis who have adopted a hard-line Wahhabi philosophy, and the nationalists and more moderate religious elements of the insurgency. The main source of the divide is over the suicide bombings that have inflicted heavy Iraqi civilian casualties, along with disagreements about whether to cooperate with the Shi'a and their insurgency. However, the publicity given to Zarqawi has ensured that he has become an iconic figure to various Sunni Islamist groups, regardless of the actual scope of his influence, by much the same process that has made Osama bin Laden a symbol of the causes of various Islamist groups following the events of September 11 2001.

Shī'a Islam, also Shi'ite Islam or Shi'ism (Arabic شيعة šīʿa), is the second largest denomination of the Islamic faith after Sunni Islam. Shias adhere to the teachings of Muhammad and the religious guidance of his family (who are referred to as the Ahl al-Bayt) or his descendents known as Shi'a Imams. Muhammad's bloodline continues only through his beloved daughter Fatima Zahra and cousin Ali which alongside the prophet's grandsons are the Ahl al-Bayt. Thus, Shi'as consider Muhammad's descendents as the true source of guidance while considering the first three ruling Sunni caliphs a historic occurrence and not something attached to faith. The singular/adjective form is šīʿī (شيعي.) and refers to a follower of the faction of Imam Ali according to the Shia ideology.

    Shia militia

The southern, Iran-linked Badr Organization is seeking to establish an Islamic Republic of Iraq.

Smaller Shia militias that have split off from the Mahdi Army have also been active; the most notorious is the one led by Abu Deraa. After the naming of Sadr-linked Ali al-Shameri as health minister[citation needed], Shia militias have infiltrated the Iraqi health care system[citation needed].

The Shia militias have presented Mr. Nouri al-Maliki with perhaps the greatest conundrum of his administration given the capture of Amarah [3]. American officials have pressed him hard to disarm the militias and rid the state security forces of their influence. Yet Mr. Maliki has hesitated to move against them, particularly the Mahdi Army and Badr Organization, for fear of alienating fundamentalist Shia leaders inside his fractious coalition.[11]

Most Iranians are Muslims; 90% belong to the Shi'a branch of Islam, the official state religion, and about 8% belong to the Sunni branch, mainly Kurds and Iran's Balochi Sunni. The remaining 2% are non-Muslim religious minorities, mainly Baha'is, Mandeans, Hindus, Zoroastrians, Jews, and Christians.[35] The latter three minority religions are officially recognized and protected, and have reserved seats in the Majles (Parliament). However the Baha'i Faith, Iran's largest religious minority, is not officially recognized, and has been persecuted during its existence in Iran. Since the 1979 revolution the persecution of Baha'is has increased with executions, the denial of civil rights and liberties, and the denial of access to higher education and employment.[41][42] Currently the Islamic Republic of Iran is noted for significant human rights violations, despite efforts by human right activists, writers, NGOs and some political parties. Human rights problems include governmental impunity, restricted freedom of speech, gender inequality and in some cases torture.

Iraq was under Baath Party rule from 1968 to 2003; in 1979 Saddam Hussein took control and remained president until 2003 after which he was unseated by a US-led invasion.

On October 15, 2005, more than 63% of eligible Iraqis came out across the country to vote on whether to accept or reject the new constitution. On October 25, the vote was certified and the constitution passed with a 78% overall majority, with the percentage of support varying widely between the country's territories.[10] The new constitution had overwhelming backing among the Shia and Ķurdish communities, but was overwhelmingly rejected by Arab Sunnis. Three majority Arab Sunni provinces rejected it (Salah ad Din with 82% against, Ninawa with 55% against, and Al Anbar with 97% against).

Under the terms of the constitution, the country conducted fresh nationwide parliamentary elections on December 15 to elect a new government. The overwhelming majority of all three major ethnic groups in Iraq voted along ethnic lines, turning this vote into more of an ethnic census than a competitive election, and setting the stage for the division of the country along ethnic lines.

Iraqi politicians have been under significant threat by the various factions that have promoted violence as a political weapon. The ongoing violence in Iraq has been incited by an amalgam of religious extremists that believe an Islamic Caliphate should rule, old sectarian regime members that had ruled under Saddam that want back the power they had, and Iraqi nationalists that are fighting the U.S. military presence.

Differences of Shia and Sunni traditions

Because Islamic law is based partly on the hadith, Shia rejection of some Sunni hadith and Sunni rejection of some Shia hadith means that the versions of the law differ somewhat. For example, while both Shia and Sunni pray five times each day, some of the prayer times differ. Shia do not believe that there is a set time for As'r and Ish'a prayers, and therefore, they are prayed together with the Thu'hur and Mugrib prayers, respectively. Likewise, Shia do not perform non-obligatory prayers like Tar'raweeh, which is prayed during Ramadaan.

Also, another issue of difference between the sects is that Nikah Mut‘ah or "temporary marriage" which is not forbidden for the Shia because it is found in a number of Shia traditions that the practice is permitted. There are Sahih Shia traditions which maintain that mut'ah is forbidden but these are dismissed as they contradict other narrations on mut'ah which were deemed more acceptable.[8] Many Shia discourage the practice of Mut'ah, but maintain that it is permissible.

    Comments:

So Iraq voted, majority are Shia, Some Shia take revenge on Sunni's

and soon the Sunnis start hitting back, and against a Government where they are the miniority, by vote.

So are the humble beginings of the GREAT Islamic Civil war.

Now ole Binny sides with the Sunni, and gets heavy with the attacks on the Shia.

And Iran steps up to help the Shia hitting back at Al Qadia.

Most of the sucide bombers are foriegners working for Binny. Killing women and children, market bombings and they start the Mosque bombings.

Al quadia is using Islam as a cover to recruit "Muslim" bombers in the name of Islam.

Problem being killing women, children, mosque bombing are in violation of the Qaaran.

Flat out they are going to hell.

And since Al Qudia is using Islam to recruit; it is Islams responsibility to take Binny in HAND, in Iraq.

" I don't talk about those who kill civilians or blow up bombs in the market " EXACTLY, AND WHAT ARE YOUR MOTIVES FOR REFUSING TO TALK OF THIS?
YOUR ATTITUDE IS EXACTLY WHY THEY ARE GETTING AWAY WITH BASTARDIZING ISLAM.

NOT TO TALK AGAINST THEM, IS TO GIVE TACIT APPROVAL, CRIME, SIN OF OMISSION.

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN ISLAM TO DAY AND YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT IT, ITS NOT A SECRET.
MUSLIMS NEED TO OWN THIS CIVIL WAR, TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT AND STOP IT.

This is Islams civil war based on politics between the Sunni and Shia, Islam needs to own this, take responsibility for it and stop it.

They are only doing what is their responsibility. I don't talk about those who kill civilians or blow up bombs in the market (just like CIA),

MUSLIMS CANNOT USE THE ACTIONS OF KAAFIRS TO VIOLATE THE KORAN? IT MATTERS NOT WHAT THE KAAFIRS DO, MOHAMED HAS MARKED THE ROAD FOR MUSLIMS, NOT KAAFIRS.
STOP USING THE KAAFIRS AS AN EXCUSE, THIS IS NOT ALLOWED IN ISLAM.
Bin Laden used this as the basis for his fatwa, NOT ALLOWED.

    The Qarran orders Binnys death.

    FOR KILLING WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

Allah said: "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter." 33:Al-Maeda .

AL QUADIA CANNOT CHANGE ALLAH's words.

    The Qaaran condems them.

"I CALL ALL MUSLIMS TO FOLLOW THE KORRAN NOT SOME munaafiqeen...."

    Allah is great,

Those who believe, fight in the Cause of Allâh, and those who disbelieve, fight in the cause of the , Tâghût (Satan). So fight you against the friends of Shaitân (Satan). Ever feeble indeed is the plot of Shaitân . ] al-Nissa:76.

Allah said : (Allah has promised, to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds, that He will, of a surety, grant them in the land, inheritance (of power), as He granted it to those before them; that He will establish in authority their religion -the one which He has chosen for them; and that He will change (their state), after the fear in which they (lived), to one of security and peace: 'They will worship Me (alone) and not associate aught with Me. 'If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked.) 55,AlNOOR.

    Al-bakara:
:109] Many of the followers of the Book wish that they could turn you back into unbelievers after your faith, out of envy from themselves, (even) after the truth has become manifest to them; but pardon and forgive, so that Allah should bring about His command; surely Allah has power over all things.

PARDON AND FORGIVE NOT KILL AND DRILL.

NO MUSLIM SHOULD CONVERT, EVERY MUSLIM SHOULD FOLLOW THE QAARAN, NOT THE ISLAMOFASCISTS.

MUSLIMS NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISLAMIC CIVIL WAR, OWN IT AND END IT.

IT IS THE DUTY OF EVERY MUSLIM TO DO A RIGHTOUS DEED AND RECLAIM THEIR RELIGION. HISTORY WILL RECORD THE MUSLIMS SHAME AT ALLOWING THEIR RELIGION AND ALLAH TO BE USED FOR EVIL. THE NEW SECRET Moujahedeen, ARE TAKING DOWN THE plot of Shaitân, Sata, the false Moujahedeen LEADERS ONE AT A TIME. And Allaah knows best. Ya Allah, we seek Your help against them. We seek Your protection against their evil, guide them towards what is Haq.

When the false Moujahedeen were upon you....Allah said: [ When they came upon you from above you and from below you, and when the eyes grew wild and the hearts reached to the throats, and you were harboring doubts about Allâh. ] al-Ahzab: 10. Allah said: [These two opponents (believers and disbelievers) dispute with each other about their Lord ] al-Hajj :19 [Those who believe, fight in the Cause of Allâh, and those who disbelieve, fight in the cause of the (false moujadeem), Tâghût (Satan). So fight you against the friends of Shaitân (Satan). Ever feeble indeed is the plot of Shaitân (Satan the false Moujahedeen ). ] al-Nissa:76.

jihad by speaking out and guiding others, (Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 7/334, 335)

    Muslims take back your religion.
