In an interview to a foreign radio, he said Karachi is a focal point for the whole world including India.
The presence of Taliban in Karachi will ensure elimination of vulgarity, obscenity and influence of foreign forces in the city.
Karachi is the largest business city of the country and there is need for peace here. The peace is embedded in Islam and its teachings.

Afghanistan has seen its worst bout of violence since the US overthrew the Taliban government in 2002. Taliban-related attacks and incidents have skyrocketed as the Taliban seeks to destabilize and de-legitimize the weak Afghan government and break NATO's will to fight a protracted counterinsurgency campaign.
The number of Taliban-related incidents per day has jumped by almost 50 percent, according to data compiled by Vigilant Strategic Services Afghanistan. The data compares the Taliban-related incidents from the Jan. 1 to July 13 time periods in 2007 versus 2008.
Afghanistan experienced 18.4 attacks per day in 2008 compared to 12.4 in 2007. Much of the violence can be traced back to Pakistan's lawless border region, where the Taliban openly control wide swaths of territory.
More than two-thirds of the Taliban-related violence has occurred in nine of Afghanistan's 34 provinces. Each of the nine provinces borders Pakistan and seven of them border the volatile tribal areas where the Taliban and al Qaeda have a de facto sanctuary and maintain more than 100 camps.

KABUL, Aug 6 (Reuters) - A senior Afghan intelligence official has accused a number of parliamentarians of supporting Taliban insurgents, Afghan newspapers said on Wednesday.
Afghan and foreign troops are struggling to contain the growing Taliban insurgency while President Hamid Karzai's government is also coming under increasing international pressure to rein in rampant corruption fed by the booming drugs trade.
The deputy head of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), Dr. Abdullah, told parliament on Tuesday that a "number of delegates" in the parliament "supported drug traffickers and terrorists", several newspapers reported on Wednesday.
Abdullah, who uses only one name, did not elaborate and did not name any politicians.

KARACHI: A day after the Pakistani Taliban said it was targeting Karachi, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders declared that they had proof the Taliban were plotting to "spread ethnic and sectarian violence" with a variety of weapons but the party was prepared to counter the threat.
"After this open announcement from the Taliban, can these religious and political personalities still deny the conspiracy of Talibanization in Karachi?" asked MQM Rabita Committee Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar at a press conference at party headquarters Nine Zero Tuesday. In an interview with BBC Urdu on Monday, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesman Maulvi Umar said that they aimed to establish themselves in Karachi. Umar said that the MQM was working on the agenda of foreign agencies and was responsible for terrorism in Karachi.
At his press conference, the MQM's Sattar referred to these words and demanded the government do something to stop the spread of 'Talibanisation' and investigate the sources of its funding and weapons. The Rabita Committee deputy convenor reiterated the MQM's anti-extremism stance. This was their "true cause" he said. The MQM sees religious extremism as a threat to peace in the country and has organized many rallies in Karachi, attended by hundreds of thousands of people, to raise public awareness.
Over the last few months, MQM chief Altaf Hussain has been warning of what he referred to as signs of Talibanization.

KHAR: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) warned Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Tuesday to "immediately end his kingdom in Karachi", saying the time was ripe for the Taliban to gain control of the city.
"This is a warning for Altaf Hussain to cease his statements against the Taliban and end his kingdom in Karachi, otherwise we will launch attacks against the MQM and its leaders once we are given the go-ahead by Baitullah Mehsud," TTP chief Maulana Faqeer Muhammad and spokesman Maulvi Umar told a joint press conference at Inayat Kalay. According to Online, Umar boasted that the Taliban had 'massive' support of Karachi's residents and Mehsud could take control of the city whenever he wanted to.
The spokesmen said the TTP was "prepared to wage jihad to counter United States and NATO forces in the Tribal Areas" and had established anti-aircraft "missile systems" along the Pak-Afghan border for this purpose.
Militant action: The TTP spokesmen also warned that they would instigate militant action across the country if the government did not stop the ongoing military operation in Swat and continued to pursue a military option in the Tribal Areas.
Umar said that, on the directives of Baitullah Mehsud, the TTP had convened special meetings of Taliban commanders to design a strategy against the government if the military operations continued. He said that the organisation had given a "positive response" to the government's proposals for peace. However, he added, neither the federal nor the provincial government had stood by their promises to continue dialogue with the Taliban to maintain law and order. Umar said that the TTP had established a special squad, comprised of a large number of male and female suicide bombers aged between 10 and 20, to target top government officials.
Talibans political war. The Taliban has been waging a political war for six years. They have been killing any tribal leaders that did not support them, there by ridding the frontier areas of any opposition. At last count they had killed 110 tribal leaders.
This has been with ISI tacit approval and support, consolidating their power in Pashtoon tribal areas, on both sides of the Durand border.
ISI was not so much infiltrated as it was a parent birthing the Taliban. The Taliban are a very bad wayward child still loved by some in ISI. ISI also has close ties to al Qaeda.
The flip side is that the Taliban is a tool for ISI, of course the Taliban have their own agenda but they are also used by the ISI.
Both ISI and the Taliban have learned that the death of opposition leaders strengthens their position, and use assassination as a means of gaining power. Taliban hit list 300 civilians.

After the Taliban were in control in Afghanistan, society reverted to the 1800's, the economy shrank and the population were abused and persecuted for fanatical ends.

In the interview, wanted Taliban commander Sirajuddin Haqqani said that the corrupted Afghan officials are a key to the Taliban's military success. “There are some people with government portfolios who are supporting us because they are worried about their own security,” Haqqani said. “They inform us of the movements of U.S. and NATO troops. There have even been some instances where they have assisted us in carrying out attacks,” he added.
Sirajuddin Haqqani, 28, controls the Taliban in the Afghan border areas with Pakistan, and in the area surrounding Kabul. Under tight security, he consented to an interview with NBC News’ Mushtaq Yusufzai in a safe house in Khost, the Afghan province that borders Pakistan.

FOR all their old-fashioned ideas, the Taliban in Afghanistan are waging a dangerously effective information war using the internet and other modern communications systems to spread their message among tribes people and the international Muslim community.
A new report by Gareth Evans' International Crisis Group says the extraordinary information campaign being waged by the Taliban is driving a dangerous wedge between the Karzai Government, along with its international backers, and the Afghan people.
It warns that along with the traditional shabnamah — "night letters" in leaflets that usually contain threats and traditional nationalist songs and poems — the Taliban are using the full range of media to tap into strains of Afghan nationalism and to create the impression they are much stronger than they are.
Crisis Group analyst Joanna Nathan said the Taliban were adept at projecting themselves as stronger than they were in numbers and resources.
"The Taliban have created a sophisticated communications apparatus that projects an increasingly confident movement," Ms Nathan said. They tried to "wear out their opponents".
She said Kabul and its international supporters needed to respond in a more timely and co-ordinated manner if they were to effectively counter Taliban allegations.
Along with the internet, the Taliban were issuing DVDs, tape cassettes and mobile phone messages to create the impression they were a patriotic organisation defending Afghan traditions.
They also have their own website and statements from their leaders are put out in five languages, with regular updates.
The Crisis Group said the information campaign, complete with exaggerated battle reports, was having a big impact on the largely rural and illiterate population.
The Taliban PR campaign is so effective because they are using 5 languages on the Internet.
The USA is limited to two languages, English and Arabic, even the civilian sector is ham strung by Googles lack of translation capabilities for Urdu and Pashtoon.
The Taliban are lying and spinning the truth and winning the hearts and minds because USA can't even communicate with the indigenous, and if you can't communicate you can't win any hearts and minds.
Gareth Evans' International Crisis Group says the "extraordinary information campaign". This is so much BS, it is not an "extraordinary information campaign", it is the only information campaign being run in Urdu and Pashto, they are winning by default, not by genius.

Taliban factions are using Western forces to eliminate rival commanders in a new version of the "Great Game" being played out in Afghanistan and Pakistan, top security sources have suggested.
The tempo of targeted attacks on the Taliban leadership has dramatically increased in the past months. Though the British and Americans have presented the recent assassinations of top leaders of the Taliban to show that their policy of "decapitating" the enemy leadership is working, security sources said that factions with the Taliban are using Western forces to eliminate rival chieftains in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
"Not all of the intelligence we are getting is being given for altruistic reasons. The Taliban movement is pretty amorphous and we are aware that different groupings appear to be passing on information," said a senior Western official, who deals with both Nato and Afghan forces on security matters.
"There appears to be a power struggle going on in the insurgent leadership across the [Pakistan] border and we are also aware that certain official bodies have their own agendas and that is reflected in what they tell us," he was quoted as saying by The Independent newspaper today.
Security sources said "hits" on the Taliban leadership have almost all been based on initial intelligence provided from within the insurgency,
ISLAMABAD, Jul 25 (APP): Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman A Malik said on Friday said upto 40 commanders of Al-Qaeda including Amjad and Rafi had been arrested during operations in Hangu and Bara, while 17 security personnel embraced martyrdom. Malik was talking to journalist at Chaklala Air Base while seeing off the Foreign Minister of United Arab Emirates. Secretary Interior Syed Kamal Shah was also present.
KABUL: British forces killed a Taliban leader, while another Taliban commander in the southern Afghanistan surrendered to the Pakistani authorities, the British Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.
Abdul Rasaq, also known as Mullah Sheikh, a Taliban leader in southern Helmand province, was killed along with three others in a missile strike north of Musa Qala on Sunday, the ministry said. Hours earlier, Mullah Rahim, said to be a senior Taliban leader in Helmand, had given himself up to the authorities in Pakistan, it said.
In an other incident, the United States-led coalition and Afghan forces killed or wounded more than 30 Taliban during fighting in the west of Afghanistan, a senior police official said on Tuesday. Fighting broke out in the Bala Boluk district of Farah province on Tuesday, Regional Police Chief Ikramuddin Yawar said. "So far more than 30 Taliban insurgents have been killed or wounded in the operation," Yawar said, adding, "The toll might be more than 30 because the operation is ongoing."

Baitullah orders inquiry into Taliban groups' clash

GHALANAI: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Baitullah Mehsud on Sunday expressed sorrow over the killing of 10 people of the Shah group in Mohmand Agency by local TTP members, and asked local TTP commander Dr Umar Khalid to explain his position, and also form a committee to investigate the incident.
TTP spokesman Maulvi Umar told reporters from an undisclosed location that Baitullah had formed a committee to probe the incident.
In case of an unsatisfactory outcome of the probe, the spokesman added, action would be taken against Dr Umar Khalid.
Joined: He said the killed members of the Shah group had taken an oath of loyalty to Baitullah Mehsud and formally joined the TTP only a few days ago. He said the "Taliban emirate" has formed a jirga to end the conflict between the two groups. Baitullah has expressed sympathy with the families of those killed in the clash, he added.
It was reported that 10 Taliban militants of the Shah group were killed at the hands of another Taliban group led by Dr Umar Khalid some days ago in the Mohmand Agency area. Pakistan's planners now see their objective as isolating radicals within the Taliban and cultivating tribal, rustic, even simplistic, "Taliban boys" - just as they did in the mid-1990s in the leadup to the Taliban taking control of the country in 1996. It is envisaged that this new "acceptable" tribal-inspired Taliban leadership will displace Taliban and al-Qaeda radicalism.
This process has already begun in Pakistan's tribal areas.
A leading Pakistani Taliban leader, HajiNazeer from South Waziristan, who runs the largest Pakistani Taliban network against coalition troops in Afghanistan, recently convened a large meeting at which it was resolved to once again drive out radical Uzbeks from South Waziristan. This happened once before, early last year.
In particular, Nazeer will take action against the Uzbeks' main backer, Pakistani Taliban hardliner BaitullahMehsud, if he tries to intervene. Nazeer openly shows his loyalty towards the Pakistani security forces and has reached out to other powerful Pakistani Taliban leaders, including MoulviFaqir from Bajaur Agency, Shah Khalid from Mohmand Agency and HajiNamdar in Khyber Agency. Nazeer also announced the appointment of the powerful commander of North Waziristan, Hafiz Gul Bahadur, as the head of the Pakistani Taliban for all Pakistan.
The bulk of the Pakistani Taliban has always been pro-Pakistan and opposed to radical forces like BaitullahMehsud and his foreign allies, but this is the first time they have set up a formal organization and appointed an amir (chief) as a direct challenge to the radicals.
India attacks Pak for trying to enter peace deal with Taliban
Dharam Shourie United Nations, July 10 (PTI) Vowing to redouble its efforts to help Afghanistan as a response to the bombing of its embassy in Kabul, India has attacked Pakistan for trying to strike a deal with the local Taliban, saying such bargains" were undermining efforts to defeat terrorists in the war-ravaged country.
"Those who perpetrated this act and those who train and protect them and enable them to commit horrific acts of violence are no better than the basest criminals," India's United Nations Ambassador Nirpuam Sen told the Security Council in a hard hitting address.
India, he said, would not yield to those who commit these "barbaric acts" and to those responsible for "greater villainy of sheltering and enabling terrorists.
Four Indians, including a brigadier-ranked defence attache and an IFS officer, were among 41 killed in the suicide terrorist bombing on Monday.
"While mourning their loss, we believe we can best honour our fallen colleagues by redoubling our commitments to working with Afghanistan to secure stability and development of that country and consequently, in the region," Sen said.
Events on the ground, Sen emphasised, make it clear that that any listing of challenges before the Afghan people must begin with security.
"We cannot afford to slacken our resolve or our efforts in combating the forces of terrorism, extremism a crime wherever and in whatever forms these groups may take." It must be a collective effort, he said and in a veiled attack on Pakistan warned against sending mixed signals through "bargains for temporary a local peace while the rest of us contend with the consequences of such a deal." The U.S. military has moved an aircraft carrier from the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea to further support its operations in Afghanistan.

Gates said the move is part of the U.S. commitment to ensure that commanders have the resources available to be successful in Afghanistan over the long term.
Also Tuesday, unnamed U.S. Navy officials said the shift away from Iraq comes after the number of foreign troop casualties in Afghanistan topped those in Iraq for two consecutive months.
June was the deadliest month for foreign forces in Afghanistan since 2001, with at least 45 of them killed, compared with 31 in Iraq.
Meanwhile, NATO says one of its soldiers was killed and four others wounded Tuesday when a roadside bomb struck a convoy in the eastern province of Kunar.
Separately, in the central province of Ghazni, officials say at least two Afghan policemen were killed in fighting with Taliban insurgents. Five insurgents are believed to have died.
Afghan and international forces frequently clash with militants loyal to the Taliban, an extremist Islamist group that ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001.

ISLAMABAD: About 3,000 Islamist women gathered at the radical Lal Masjid in the capital on Wednesday and vowed to raise their children for jihad, days after a suicide bomber killed 19 people after a similar rally on July 6. Chanting slogans of "jihad is our way", burqa-clad women, some carrying babies, listened to fiery speeches from the daughter of the mosque's jailed cleric on the eve of the anniversary of a raid on the complex in which more than 100 people died. "Our mujahideen laid down their lives for the enforcement of the Islamic system in Pakistan. We are left behind to carry forward their mission," the daughter of cleric Abdul Aziz told the tightly guarded rally in the mosque compound. Several thousand men had attended a similar rally on Sunday to mark the anniversary of the commando raid that ended a weeklong siege that had begun when gunmen from the mosque clashed with police. Shortly after the Sunday rally ended, a suicide bomber attacked policemen who had been guarding the gathering killing 19 people, all but four of them policemen. But there was no trouble on Wednesday as the cleric's daughter, who did not identify herself, told the crowd to steel their families for jihad. "We should prepare our children and men for jihad," she said. The crowd responded with shrill chants of "We are ready" and "Al jihad". The women present demanded, amongst others, a court trial of President Pervez Musharraf, reconstruction of the Jamia Hafsa, reopening of the Jamia Fareedia, release of Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Aziz and an end to the military operation in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. WASHINGTON: The use of suicide bombings has allowed religiously radical forces to reach beyond their NWFP strongholds and strike with impunity at the core of Pakistan, including urban centres, and as it is, things are spinning out of control, according to a commentary released on Monday by Stratfor.
The Texas-based news intelligence service notes that along with the rapidly deteriorating security situation, political instability has only grown after the elections, which failed to quell the political unrest that severely weakened not only President Pervez Musharraf's hold on power but also that of the army.
Civil-military hybrid: "Musharraf's regime has been replaced by a civil-military hybrid which lacks the willingness and/or the ability to take on the threat posed by extremism and militancy. The fact is that the civilian government and the country's military establishment appear to be losing control of the situation," the analysis maintains.

Taliban fighters have taken control of 10 villages in the Arghandab district of Kandahar province in Afghanistan, and have said they plan to march towards Kandahar city.
Mohammad Farooq, a government official in Arghandab, said on Monday that around 500 Taliban fighters moved into the area and took over the villages.
Arghandab lies 30km north of Kandahar city.
Haji Ikramullah Khan, a tribal leader from the region warned that the fighters could use the cover of the district's grape and pomegranate orchards to mount an attack on Kandahar itself.

"All of Arghandab is made of orchards. The fighters can easily hide and easily fight," he said.
"It is quite close to Kandahar. During the Russian war, the Russians didn't even occupy Arghandab, because when they fought here they suffered big casualties."
The Taliban offensive follows the escape of more than 1000 Taliban andother prisoners in a suicide attack on the main jail in the southerncity of Kandahar on Friday night, which also left many prison guardsdead.
Mark Laity, a Nato spokesman, said that Nato and Afghan military officials were redeploying troops to the region to "meet any potential threats".
"It's fair to say that the jailbreak has put a lot of people [fighters] into circulation who were not there before, and so obviously you're going to respond to that potential threat," he said.
Al Jazeera's Hashem Ahelbarra, reporting from Kandahar, said that hundreds of Taliban fighters are taking up positions in the area and taking over nearby villages.
"Ultimately, it is local residents who are paying a heavy price for this increasing instability," he said.
"The Taliban are showing impressive capability in manoeuvring in and around the area."
KARACHI: Spokesman Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, Maulvi Umer has said that Taliban are operative in Lahore and across Sindh including Karachi.
