    Hamas, Gaza children killed.

    Hamas, Gaza children killed.
By Gerald; Internet Anthropologist Think Tank

Would Hamas put children in harms way
to pump up support for their war, and hatred against
    Israel?

Would Hamas allow children to be killed to further
    a political agenda?

Would Hamas put children in houses, buildings
they knew Israel would bomb because rockets
have been fired there, or stored there.

And then call the news to take photos
of dead kids, for furtherance of their agenda?

Would they have children's cartoon TV shows
Hamas' al Fateh children's website  teaching hatred and suicide,
    showing dead chidren to children?

    YES THEY WOULD AND HAVE.

    HAMAS ARE COWARDS HIDING BEHIND
    CHILDREN.
Allah will have a special place in hell for them.

    Iran's Secret WAR plans.

While on a virtual picnic on the WWW one of Company "C" troopers ran into ayatollah Farehd.
And with her best charming virtual personalty got him to explain the Khamemini's secret war plans.
    this is what he said:

I am on the Iranian council, of Khamenei, ( his hat Was charming. )

I believe the Americans are a paper tiger. After all, we held Americans hostage for a year, have warred against them in Iraq, and done other stuff with no consequences meaningful to us.

I have lots of assets. I have a recently developed nuke, and means of delivery. I have Hezbollah, thus control Lebanon, an alliance with AQ, and relations with Hamas and Fatah as well. Have the ability to attack in Iraq and Afghanistan. My ally Syria has many of the missing weapons of Saddam. Iran 4 front missile comand.

I or my allies have agents in the US, Britain, and throughout Europe, in India, and worldwide. These agents have identified targets, and are ready to move. Probably have agents inside Israel, also ready.

I have alliances of a sort with Venezuela and North Korea. Though most Arab countries don't like me much, they like me better than the US and Israel, and we have important interests in common. I know things about them the west doesn't know. Plus I can intimidate them with my nukes.

Persians invented chess. So the plan includes surprise, misdirection and distraction. My pieces are in place, but timing is a question.

Even if US is a paper tiger, I want to act when US is weakest and most confused. Lame duck president is known to be aggressive, still capable of action. If I believe McCain is likely, November/December will be attractive. If Obama is likely, after January may be better. If I'm uncertain of being able to accurately gauge election probability, then right after a setback for Bush may be best. Considering experts in the US can't predict election results, the last may appeal most. Don't want to lose a window of opportunity.

The Supreme Court decision re Guantanamo, or something similar, might suffice as a setback for Bush.

    Other factors re timing:

Wait: My weapons may need more testing/development. US displays increased aggression re Pakistan. AQ is not quite ready in Palestine. Recent attention to weapons I shipped to Hezbollah. If the nuke is ready, others factors are not too important.

Move ASAP: Political rebellion in Iran, supported by US, adds pressure to move when able. US gains in Iraq and Afghanistan. Turkey acts against terrorism. US distracted by major floods and election hoopla. I see most US alliances as weak right now. Israel ruler weakened, act before he is replaced.

Goal: wipe out Israel, humiliate the US, establish Iran as a power, and manipulate God into bringing the Mahdi now and making Islam supreme. This last makes sense to me, seems a reasonable undertaking. We have personal suicide bombing now the world will see State suicide
nuclear bomb, to bring on the Mahdi.

    My scenario:

Ally Syria distracts Israel with negotiations, the Golan issue appears plausible, provides potential hostages. Egypt negotiates re Hamas, may not relate to me, but I don't mind, muddies the water.

Hamas lures Israel military into Gaza.

Once Israel is committed in Gaza, make a big political stink in the UN, rouse the ME street. At the same time, Venezuela and N. Korea make some waves, create a ruckus.Palestinian TERROR GROUPS

I plan to deter and dismay the US by a rapid succession of surprises: terror attacks on US homeland and ally Britain, attacks in India, and elsewhere. Particular focus on European attacks to defuse NATO. Iran's pay-for-performance ... Coordinated attacks in Iraq & Afghanistan using not only expected insurgents and techniques, but infiltrated agents. May use Saddam's weapons, might even threaten Baghdad with a nuke, play on Western humanitarian weakness. Hezbollah's Cyber attacks, disrupt communication. The longer it takes the US to assess the intent of the attacks, the more likely success.

I nuke Israel. Their retaliation will be confused, and my facilities are hardened. I have missile defense. Iran will push the button

Agents in Israel take control of possible assets, hostages, engage in terror strikes. Hezbollah attacks, Hamas uses advanced weapons I have supplied. Syria moves in. What Iranian forces can be spared from Iraq move in. I hope that Egypt and other Arab countries that hate Israel jump in, I have some influence in those countries. Persians SKUNK Arabs. My prediction is that once they see I meant what I said, they will be reluctant to defy the new regional power, and at the minimum will not interfere. My nuke will be influential.

A weapon is meaningless if its possessor is unwilling to use it. I believe the US will not use nukes at all - too timid and concerned about approval of world community. Israel might in retaliation, but not in initial attack. I believe I can prevent, withstand, or deter Israel's retaliation. I'm not concerned about the people of Iran, they exist to support the Islamic Revolution. Thus once I use my nukes, mine are more powerful than those belonging to the unwilling.

If I can envelope and seriously menace Israel fast enough,
Israel itself will be hostage against the US. Only rapid overwhelming force against Iran could stop me. I can then destroy Israel, while promising not to and engaging in diplomacy. Europe, and probably the US, will dither. China and Russia will only pretend to care.

Speed is essential. However if the attack on Israel is not successful within a couple days, need to be able to maintain the illusion of deniability ( al Qaeda ) and Hamas attacks to allow needed time to destroy Israel. Must maintain power of public opinion to hamstring action.

Once the US engages in defense of Israel, events become unpredictable, other countries including Russia and China engage, and the situation goes out of control. I can threaten the US and Europe that I still have agents in place for more terror attacks. I trust to my political skills to ride the tide of events, and hopefully the Mahdi will take charge then. Islam and sharia will reign.

    Thursday, May 1, 2008 (Islamabad)
Several people were feared killed on Thursday when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the office of an Islamic group in Pakistan's restive Khyber Agency, officials said.

The suicide bomber targeted the office of the ''Amar bil maroof wa nahee aanelmunkar'' (promotion of virtue and prevention of vice force), the religious police of a group led by Haji Namdar at Bara, the main town of the northwestern Khyber Agency.

A spokesman for Haji Namdar said the head of the suicide bomber has been found.

Official sources said Haji Namdar ( Taliban ) was the actual target of the attack though he escaped unhurt. He is a rival of Mangal Bagh Afridi, another radical leader who heads the Lashkar-e-Islam group.

    Haji Namdar at Bara
Haji Namdar has time and again announced his support to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and even invited the Afghan Taliban to his area through his illegal FM radio station, while the invitation, some believe, was accepted

attack on the Taliban, seems aQ didn't like the talks between the Paki Gov and Taliban.
It was a serious attack and was reported, just that it has not yet been revealed it was al Qaeda vs Taliban.

But under the Pashtun code, the guest has obligations, too: to obey the national law and not to do something than endangers his host ( like attack the host ). Whatever bin Laden's motivations for being in Afghanistan, his presence has turned into a catastrophe for the Afghan people. The extremist Wahabi strain of Islamic fundamentalism that he preaches is popular in Saudi Arabia and Yemen but foreign to most Afghans, even to some members of the Taliban."

So we are keeping the details quiet, I don't understand the underlying paradigm, yet. G

Yunis Al-Astal, Hamas MP and cleric on Drugs

Yunis Al-Astal, Hamas MP and cleric on Drugs

Hamas MP/Cleric's Friday Sermon: We Will Conquer Rome, the Two Americas, and Eastern Europe

In a Friday sermon that aired on Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV on April 11, 2008, Yunis Al-Astal, Hamas MP and cleric, told worshipers that Rome, "the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital," would soon be conquered by Islam, just as Constantinople was. It then, he said, would become "an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread through Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, and even Eastern Europe."

The following are excerpts from Al-Astal's sermon:

Yunis Al-Astal: "Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion, so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security, and consolidation of power, and even to conquests thorough da'wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world.

"Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our Prophet Muhammad.

"Today, Rome is the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital, which has declared its hostility to Islam, and has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam. This capital of theirs will be an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread through Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, and even Eastern Europe.

"I believe that our children, or our grandchildren, will inherit our jihad and our sacrifices, and, Allah willing, the commanders of the conquest will come from among them.

"Today, we instill these good tidings in their souls – and by means of the mosques and the Koran books, and the history of our Prophets, his companions, and the great leaders, we prepare them for the mission of saving humanity from the hellfire at whose brink they stand."

    Hamas Wounds 46 Egyptian Patrol

Hamas Wounds 46 Egyptian Patrol Guards at Rafah, Al-Ahram Says

    By Mahmoud Kassem

Feb. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Militants belonging to the Palestinian party of Hamas wounded 46 Egyptian patrol guards at the border town of Rafah between Egypt and Gaza, Al-Ahram newspaper reported, citing Agence France Presse.

Groups of armed militants had a firefight with the Egyptian border patrol while trying to open a section of the barrier between Egypt and Gaza, the state-owned Cairo-based newspaper reported.

To contact the reporter on this story: Mahmoud Kassem in Cairo at mkassem1@bloomberg.net .

    Background

After the towering border wall slicing through Rafah was toppled earlier this week, long-separated relatives, friends and even former soccer buddies just had to walk a few yards to embrace and reminisce.

Some even dared to make plans for an uncertain future: One large Palestinian clan quickly married off four women to relatives on the Egyptian side. "How can we leave the other side? We were always one place," said Kamal al-Nahal, 40, an uncle of one of the brides.

But almost three decades of separation have also produced marked differences in customs, building styles and dialect. Al-Nahal said he wasn't exactly impressed with Egyptian Rafah which, with mudbrick buildings and unpaved streets, has more of a village feel than its larger, bustling counterpart of multistory apartment buildings on the Gaza side.

About 40,000 people live on the Egyptian side and about 200,000 in Gaza's Rafah, which includes both the original town and an adjacent refugee camp. Those on the Egyptian side are mostly of Palestinian origin, but their Arabic often has more of an Egyptian dialect.

Rafah was bisected in 1982 to accommodate land claims negotiated as part of the Egyptian-Israeli peace agreement. While suddenly holding different citizenship, residents of both sectors could cross the border with relative ease for several years.

However, travel became increasingly difficult as Israeli-Palestinian fighting intensified. During the second Palestinian uprising, which erupted in 2000, Gazan Rafah became one of the bloodiest flashpoints of violence, with gunmen often exchanging fire with Israeli troops patrolling the Gaza-Egypt border.

Israeli troops razed hundreds of Rafah homes to widen the patrol road and erected a tall wall — the one toppled Wednesday — as cover against ambushes.

The border breach was engineered by the Islamic militant Hamas to pressure Egypt to negotiate new border arrangements. Both Israel and Egypt had kept Gaza largely sealed in the past two years, especially since Hamas violently seized the territory in June.

At least 38 members of the Egyptian security forces have been hurt in confrontations on the border in recent days, Egypt said. On Saturday, Egyptian riot police and armored vehicles blocked Gazan cars from moving beyond Egyptian Rafah, but the border remained otherwise open.

Even during years of separation, the two sides of Rafah had long stayed connected through underground smuggling tunnels ferrying cigarettes, weapons and other contraband.

After the fall of the border wall, much of that trade went above ground.

Huge crowds of Gazans have descended on Egyptian Rafah, buying just about everything on offer, from crates of Coke to cement and motorcycles, and some shops have closed for lack of wares.

Many came in search of friends and relatives.

Bassem el-Akhras, 45, a nurse in the Palestinian Health Ministry, used to play in a local Rafah soccer team before the 1982 split. On Saturday, he tracked down the team's former striker, Walid Hosni, 47, in Egyptian Rafah, and the two sat on chairs outside Hosni's grocery.

"It was the best day ever, that we were able to break (through) the wall and get together again with our friends," said Hosni, who coaches the local high school soccer team.

El-Akhras also reconnected with six brothers and sisters in Egyptian Rafah whom he hadn't seen for 11 years, and paid respects at his father's grave. El-Akhras said his father died a year ago on the Egyptian side, and that he was unable to attend the funeral.

"The blockade we were under was unbearable, and this is a chance to breathe," he said.

The al-Nahal clan, which has members on both sides of the border, seized a chance to celebrate three weddings after the border breach, two of them Friday. Four women from the clan were engaged to relatives on the Egyptian side, some for as long as two years, but the weddings had been put off in hopes of having guests from both sides of the border attend.

Abdel Rahman Abu Jezer, 65, a farmer from Gazan Rafah, was also hatching matrimonial plots.

With his 17-year-old veiled granddaughter in tow, he walked to the Egyptian side of town Saturday to visit relatives. "Maybe this will be the bride for my nephew (in Egypt)," he said, referring to his granddaughter.

Like el-Akhras, he had been separated from siblings for years. He said he is grateful to Hamas for breaking down the border wall, and hopes Egypt will not reseal the crossing.

"When they started dividing (Rafah), I felt like a knife has cut part of my body," he said. "I only now feel that my wound is starting to heal."

    HAMMAS VS SWAT TEAMS

Before USA attacks Iran they need to plan for Hammas.
    Paradigm considerations.
SWATteams are great against a couple of bank robbers.

But we saw what happened in Calf, when two bank robbers with amour
and automatic weapons took on the police force.

How many SWAT Teams have been trained in out right military tactics?

How would the SWAT teams stand up against a Hammas squad with auto weapons?

There are many ex-Military in SWAT, but the teams have not been trained to fight
    another Squad with automatic weapons.

Iraqi Hamas accused Al-Qaida of inflicting "great suffering" on ordinary Iraqi Sunnis:

    from counter terrorism blog

A breakaway Sunni insurgent faction from the 1920 Revolution Brigades known as "Hamas in Iraq" has issued a formal response to recent allegations by Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, the leader of Al-Qaida's "Islamic State of Iraq." In an official communiqué dated October 2, Iraqi Hamas accused Al-Qaida of inflicting "great suffering" on ordinary Iraqi Sunnis: "every day they witnessed heads or headless bodies lying in their streets. Each one of these victims had been accused of a so-called ‘crime’ prohibited by Al-Qaida fatwahs... then [Al-Qaida] attacked Ameriyyat [al-Fallujah] with a car bomb packed with chlorine gas canisters, and they even laid siege to the area to prevent food and fuel from getting to people. Finally, they killed several men at the local market and smashed their heads against boxes of food... We [have] witnessed dozens of beheaded bodies and none of them were Americans. Rather, they were all local people from the area—people who, at one point, had supported the Al-Qaida network until they themselves had become disposable." In fact, according to Hamas in Iraq--as a result of the various crimes Al-Qaida has committed against innocent Muslim civilians--"the Al-Qaida network has actually made people here think that the occupation forces are merciful and humane by comparison."

NEFA Series "Target America": Hamas' Military Operations in North America

    By Evan Kohlmann

On the heels of the foiled plots targeting Fort Dix and JFK Airport, the Nine Eleven Finding Answers (NEFA) Foundation announces the release of the seventh in a series of reports examining the multitude of threats directed at the United States since 9/11. This week's report focuses on a Hamas plot to attack members of the U.S. and Canadian Jewish communities, as well as to assassinate an Israeli official visiting the U.S. According to the Israeli government, Ahmed Wahabe, a "senior Hamas terrorist," tasked Jamal Akal, a Canadian citizen, to raise funds for the attack in Canadian mosques and purchase a M-16 from a Detroit gang. Further, Wahabe advised Akal that "New York is an easy place to find Jews."

Hamas security forces in Gaza have detained members of the Palestinian militant group which claims to have abducted BBC reporter Alan Johnston.

Among the arrested was Khattab al-Maqdisi, a spokesman of the Army of Islam group, Hamas said.

"The arrests were carried out after all negotiation attempts... failed to free the abducted journalist," the Hamas-run interior ministry said in a statement.

Alan Johnston was kidnapped in Gaza on 12 March.

The BBC is holding a rally for Mr Johnston on Monday to mark the 16th week since his disappearance.

    Growing tension

"The arrests are targeting figures who were involved in the abduction of the journalist," the interior ministry statement said.

It said Hamas acted after "the use of peaceful means failed to free" the British reporter.

Earlier, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said Mr Maqdisi was detained after he opened fire on members of Hamas's security forces in Gaza City.

He said Hamas would investigate claims by the Army of Islam - a small armed group - that Mr Maqdisi was injured during the arrest.

Mr Abu Zuhri also accused the clan which allegedly controls the Army of Islam of abducting 10 Hamas students.

Tensions between Hamas and the Army of Islam have been growing since Hamas seized control of the Gaza Strip last month by force.

Hamas has demanded that the Army of Islam release Mr Johnston, threatening to "use all means to secure his life and to free him". http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6260970.stm

Army of Islam Issues Statement Questioning Why Hamas Has Decided to Start a War Over BBC Reporter Alan Johnston

The Army of Islam Issues Statement Questioning Why Hamas Has Decided to Start a War Over Captive BBC Reporter Alan Johnston
    June 26, 2007

The Army of Islam [Jaish al-Islam], a jihadist group operating in Gaza Strip which kidnapped BBC reporter Alan Johnston, issued a statement through the Global Islamic Media Front to jihadist forums today, Tuesday, June 26, 2007, questioning Hamas and its military wing, the Martyr Izz al-Deen al-Qassam Brigades, over initiating a war with the group over Johnston's capture. Hamas has demanded the release of Johnston, going as far as threatening a military response against the Army of Islam. The group claims that the Martyr Izz al-Deen al-Qassam Brigades has "dared" to kidnap two of its members, a field commander and a Mujahid, when they were returning from dawn prayer, and believes this action and their siding with Britain is tantamount to abandonment of Islam and denial of Shari'a. They announce to Hamas: "you were not the first to be deceived by the mirage. Do not follow he who sold his religion cheaply to get the satisfaction of Britain. In the Name of Allah, Britain will not be pleased with you unless you follow its religion. So are you going to follow it?!"

Rather than focusing on the release from captivity of Sheikh Abu Qatada al-Filistini for the release of Johnston, the Army of Islam uses Sajida al-Rishawi, a female sentenced to death in Jordan for alleged part in suicide bombings which struck hotels in Amman in November 2005, in their argument to Hamas. The group portrays itself as acting in her defense, and asks of Hamas why it chooses to be responsible for her death, and kill or be killed because of an "infidel [Johnston] whose kidnappers want to meet a Muslim woman sentenced to death in the jails of the dictators." Longing for the past when Hamas and the Army of Islam were in accord, one year ago in the capture of the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, the group wishes that Hamas recognizes its error and cease its escalation. The Army of Islam also threatens those scholars who issue "misleading fatwas", and reminds of its denial of negotiations for the release of those they captured, stating: "No haggling and no discussion, even if they remain in captivity for a thousand years or are slaughtered like sheep."

"The Army of Islam also threatens those scholars who issue "misleading fatwas".
Now they are threatening the Imans, al Qaeda is now threating the religious leaders...

How long will Islam allow al Qaeda to spit on Allah?

In a statement emailed to AFP Tuesday, June 26, the Palestinian radicals demand that Jordan release the Iraqi woman, Sajida al-Rishawi, who was sentenced to death over triple hotel attacks in Amman that killed 60 people in 2005; Abu Mohammed al-Maqdissi, also held in Jordan since then; and the radical Palestinian-born cleric Abu Qatada, reputed former al Qaeda spiritual leader in Europe, who is held in Britain.

DEBKAfile reports the threat was prompted by Hamas Executive Force’s abduction earlier Tuesday of Musab Durmush, a kinsman of Mumtaz Durmush, chief of the al-Qaeda linked Army of Islam, and his bodyguard Mahmoud al-Katib. The message the group realized – “There will be no compromise, he will either stay in captivity for 1,000 years or be slaughtered like a lamb" means that Johnston’s life will be forfeit unless Hamas frees the Durmush captive.

DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources add: Six days ago, Hamas threatened to free the BBC reporter by force. Durmush rose to the challenge by promising to meet force with force. This made his al-Qaeda-linked militia the only Palestinian force willing take on Hamas, which further builds up al Qaeda’s clout in the Gaza Strip.

Two days ago, Alan Johnston, 45, was shown on video wearing a bomb belt and saying his Gaza captors would detonate it if any attempt was made to rescue him. The British journalist was snatched at gunpoint in Gaza City on March 12.

Shalit’s obviously dictated call on the Israeli government to free thousands of Palestinian prisoners was rejected by prime minister Ehud Olmert at the Sharm el-Sheikh conference Monday, June 25.

“You must meet the demands of the moujeheddin to get me out of prison," said the kidnapped soldier in the first sign of life in his year of captivity. "Just as I have parents who miss me, so too do the thousands of Palestinian prisoners and they deserve to have them home.”

“It has been a whole year and my health is continuing to deteriorate and I need lengthy hospital treatment. I was on a military mission under orders and not a dope peddler.”

The same day, al Qaeda’s No. 2 Ayman Zuwahiri released a new audio video supporting Hamas and its seizure of the Gaza Strip in a dramatic swing round from its earlier criticism.

Sunday, Hamas aired footage produced by al Qaeda’s Army of Islam showing BBC correspondent Alan Johnston wearing an explosive belt and warning that it would be detonated in any attempt to free him.

DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources: The release of the Shalit, Johnston and Zawihiri tapes within a few hours – the first two by Hamas – strongly indicates the timing was coordinated between Hamas and al Qaeda. Although the Army Islam holds the two hostages, its al Qaeda masters appear to be willing to let Hamas use the Israeli soldier to secure the release of a large number of its prisoners from Israeli jails. The kudos for this feat would gain the Hamas government prestige and popularity and create fertile soil for Osama bin Laden’s fundamentalists to further spread their wings in and from Gaza.

DEBKAfile's counter-terror sources report that an earlier audiotape, which has not been released, was handed to Hamas by the henchmen of the chief of the Army of Islam aka al Qaeda Palestine, Mumtaz Durmush, who are holding both Shalit and Johnston. The two kidnapped men ask for their captors’ demands to be met. The two tapes were clearly made by the same hand.

The efforts made by both the Israeli and British authorities to keep al Qaeda connection dark and the two cases separate has worsened their situation. Time is only making Durmush – he now calls himself Abu Muhammad al Ansari – more implacable and more respected for his toughness in the circles of al Qaeda’s Middle East commanders.

Hamas pulled back from storming the Durmush compound in the Sabra district of Gaza City so as not to clash directly with al Qaeda’s Gaza network. Ayman Zuwairi’s support for its takeover of Gaza “despite the mistakes of their leadership” was its reward. Only last week, al Qaeda released a tape reprimanding Hamas for “daring to monopolize the Israeli Gilead Shalit and seeking a deal with Israel.” A victory for Hamas is a victory for Palestine,” said bin Laden’s deputy.

GAZA CITY [MENL] -- Hamas has captured the intelligence files of the Palestinian Authority, which include evidence of significant cooperation with Israel, the United States and Arab countries.
Palestinian sources said Hamas has hauled away the files from the two leading security agencies under the control of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. The sources cited the Preventive Security Apparatus and General Intelligence, both of which engaged in extensive liasion with Arab and Western countries.
"If these files are thorough, then Hamas will know just about every secret," a Palestinian security source said. "That means, the requests of foreign nations, funding, meetings, joint operations, you name it."
The sources said Egypt, Israel and the United States were regarded as the major liasions with PSA, founded by Mohammed Dahlan. They said all three countries were said to have significantly aided the agency as part of intelligence and security cooperation.

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration is poised to lift its economic and diplomatic embargo against the Palestinian government in the West Bank now that a U.S.-backed moderate has evicted Islamic radicals from governance.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is expected to announce the new U.S. stance early this week, a senior U.S. official said Sunday.
The White House declined to comment Sunday, but Jacob Walles, the U.S. consul-general in Jerusalem, said Saturday that the international aid embargo imposed after Hamas won parliamentary elections last year will no longer apply to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' government. He said he expected it to be lifted this week.
The U.S. move essentially would reset U.S. policy to the days before the Islamic militant group Hamas swept legislative elections in early 2006 and upended U.S. and international peacemaking. The United States, Israel and the European Union regard Hamas as a terrorist

Veteran aircraft is new ‘secret weapon’ in Iraq
    IAN BRUCE, Defence Correspondent
    June 18 2007

Ian Bruce Defence Correspondent US forces in Iraq are using an aircraft older than most of the pilots flying it as the latest "secret weapon" against lethal roadside booby-traps.
Four squadrons of EA-6B Prowler electronic jamming jets - which first saw action over Vietnam in the 1970s - have been deployed to counter the remote-controlled bombs which inflict 80% of fatal casualties on patrolling American troops.
The Prowlers are unarmed, but carry an array of countermeasures which can block the triggering signals used by insurgents to detonate improvised explosive devices(IEDs).
Their electronic pods are fitted with jammers which can blot out everything from military radar to mobile phones and the garage-door openers favoured by Iraqi guerrilla fighters to set off bombs from a safe distance.
Captain David Woods, one of the US Navy's most experienced Prowler pilots, said: "There's no way we can ever know how many explosions we prevent, but I assure you it's effective on the remotely-triggered devices."
