drug cartels combined, and its about to bring the United States of America DOWN.

McAfee says, "There have been increasing reports of cyber attacks and network infiltrations that appear to be linked to nation-states and political goals." The worries can prompt threatened nations, like Israel, to prepare defensive and offensive cyber weapons, leading to what the information security giant says can be a "cyber arms race". McAfee says that the private sector is at even greater risk, and that governments should prepare for cyber warfare.

and arresting Terrorist.

There have been 5 plots intercepted this year.

Part of the method is multiple screens,

Paradigm Intel report from DOD information

says its a system of screens, and every time

someone trips a screen, they move into a

higher level of surveillance.

The screens are devised to spot actions

only terrorist do, and in a particular sequence.

Someone buying a ton of fertilizer and travel

to Afghan would trigger a second look by

FBI agents.

The success of the program is in the details.

Many are flagged, but few trigger successive

flags.

The screens have been developed by detailed

profiles of caught terrorist.

Some times it minor things in a particular

sequence that starts them up the screening

process.

'DARK MARKET' TAKEDOWN Exclusive Cyber Club for Crooks Exposed

The "Dark Market" website Last week the FBI and its global partners wrapped up a two-year undercover cyber operation that resulted in 56 arrests worldwide, the prevention of $70 million in potential losses, and the confirmation that while there might be honor among thieves, in the end, they are still just thieves. Here’s what happened: ...A discerning group of cyber criminals established a forum on the Internet called “Dark Market,” where they bought and sold stolen financial information such as credit card data, login credentials (user names and passwords), and even electronic equipment for carrying out financial crimes. ...At its peak, this vast criminal network had over 2,500 registered members, who all believed they were operating in a protected cyber environment because they went to great lengths to vet members and to weed out undesirable elements. ...What they didn’t know was that one of the site’s administrators and most respected members, who called himself Master Splyntr, was one of us—an undercover FBI agent who had infiltrated the site posing as a cyber crook. “It was a group of people who trusted each other,” said the undercover agent after the arrests. He explained that there are two types of cyber criminals: those who steal, but not from one another, and “rippers,” who steal from anyone. Keeping the rippers off the Dark Market site, the agent explained, gave the other members a false sense of confidence. “They did a good job of trying to be secure, and they felt secure. There was honor among thieves, so to speak.” “What’s worked for us in taking down spy rings and entire mob families over the years—embedding an undercover agent deep within a criminal organization—worked beautifully in taking down Dark Market. And once again, our global partnerships paid off.” FBI Cyber Division Assistant Director Shawn Henry Master Splyntr was on the site nearly every day, anywhere from one hour to 15 hours a day. Dark Market was like an exclusive club for cyber crooks, a meeting place for getting advice and brokering deals. During his time online, the undercover agent said, “we saw millions of dollars being exchanged.” At the same time, the operation prevented the millions of dollars in losses by tipping off potential cyber crime targets. From the outset, our agent pointed out, “the goal was to infiltrate the organization.” The operation was extremely successful in developing intelligence on Dark Market’s leading members and the ways in which they conducted their far-flung crimes. Throughout the operation, we worked closely with our international law enforcement partners, including the U.K.’s Serious Organised Crime Agency, the Turkish National Police, and the German Federal Criminal Police. “What’s worked for us in taking down spy rings and entire mob families over the years—embedding an undercover agent deep within a criminal organization—worked beautifully in taking down Dark Market,” said our Cyber Division Assistant Director Shawn Henry. “And once again, our global partnerships paid off.” As for our undercover agent who became a trusted member of the forum, he explained that he often had to think like a crook when signing on as Master Splyntr. “But at the same time,” he added, “you remember what your job is—to get the criminals.” While criminals thought it was based in Eastern Europe, the internet's top English-speaking cybercrime forum was secretly run by the FBI from this building on the banks of the Monongahela River in Pittsburgh. While they are out on bond they will be ripping off more people to pay the attorneys, my fear is they get suspened sentences and fined. And they pay the fines from the money they have stolen. Cyber crooks scared, weeping in their beer.

In the next few months we will see mass arrests of cyber crooks around the globe.

As DarkMarket.ws turned honey pot bares fruit.

Hackers retreating, scrubbing drives, getting off the net and on the run.

Many are collectiong evidence on others as a bargining chips to plead for lower or no sentenances.

Hackers don't do well in prison.

Project DarkMarker will put a nice dent into ID theft, and may provide some good leads into RBN.

For the past two years the FBI has been logging thousands of IPs of rhackers, cc theives, and buyers.

The site offered a quality control fuction. A chance to check the quality of your product, and get a rating

for the quality of your stolen cretdit card numbers stc, so the FBI has a sample / Evidence of most transactions. The would even boot off crooks with fake cc numbers.

Like Shadowcrew and earlier sites, DarkMarket lets buyers and sellers of stolen identities and credit card data meet and do business, in an entrepreneurial, peer-reviewed environment. Products for sale run the gamut from specialized hardware, to electronic banking logins collected from phishing attacks, stolen personal data needed to assume a consumer's identity ("full infos") and credit card magstripe swipes ("dumps), which are used to produce counterfeit cards. Vendors are encouraged to submit their goods for review before offering them for sale.

Dejected denizens of the forum absorbed Tuesday's news with disappointment. "I was waiting for this, the worst news of them all," wrote a poster called Ms. Gold. "I don't really know what to say nor am I in your shoes to give a real view. There must be another solution to the problem. Do we just let them win?"

"Now it would be too difficult to conduct business," wrote Iceburg. "Darkmarket was our bridge to business and if that bridge is broken than business is broken ... Long live carding and cashing. Short live all the RATS and FBI and all stupid secret agencies who are not just ruining our lives and families but they are destroying everything we left behind!"

DarkMarket has enjoyed a solid reputation among users for effectively weeding out "rippers" who steal from other crooks.

In August, 11 defendants were formally charged in last year's high-profile T.J. Maxx data breach in which more than 45 million accounts were compromised over a couple of years. The defendants included three U.S. citizens as well as citizens of the Ukraine, Estonia, Belarus and the People's Republic of China. What's become clear to investigators and security experts alike is that organizations perpetrating these kinds of attacks are not only increasingly global, they're becoming nimbler, smarter and more efficient at wreaking havoc on company networks and profiting from their illegal activities. They have names like the Russian Business Network, Gray Pigeons, and Honkers Union of China. And they're growing—in numbers, power and reach.

"What we've seen is really a deep stratification of electronic crime into a growing, prosperous and responsive economy, with a number of specialty organizations, syndication and deepening organization of peers, both within a vertical skillset and across the entire enterprise of electronic crime," said Peter Cassidy, secretary general of the Anti-Phishing Working Group, a nonprofit organization dedicated to counteracting cybercrime. Scott Henderson, a former U.S. military intelligence analyst with a specialty in the Chinese cyberthreat, said that there are about 280,000 to 300,000 individual hackers in China belonging to about 250 cybercrime organizations.
