ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- For two weeks, two men allegedly posed as Federal and Foreign Intelligence agents. The FBI says they were trying to con two local police agencies. They allegedly tried to use Alpharetta police and Marietta police to help them commit a crime.

According to the FBI, one of the men, Louis Aprile, 49, of Alpharetta posed as a National Security Agency (NSA) agent. The other, Michael Garveigh, 45, of Roswell posed as an intelligence officer with the British MI5 Agency.

"They were meeting for the last two weeks in a scheme to recover terrorism related funds from two locations on behalf of the US Government," said FBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett.

The two fake agents told both Alpharetta and Marietta police that they were working a high priority terrorism investigation and they needed some police officers to help them out. "They said they were putting together a counter-terrorism task force," Emmett said.

Emmett says the suspects identified two homes as targets, one in Alpharetta and one in Marietta that contained funds that they wanted to get......

The FBI won't say who the two suspects were targeting or how they identified the targets. Special Agent Emmett says this is a very unique case. "I'm just shaking my head at the fact that two educated individuals tried to con two sophisticated police departments like Alpharetta and Marietta Police Departments," he said.

It is also worth noting the little-noticed support some of the worst parts of the Islamist agenda get from so-called moderate and mainstream Islamist groups who are tied to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Nothing could be a more stark reminder than the story of the young Somali woman who was stoned to death for adultery after reporting to authorities that she had been raped.

Amnesty International reported that partway through the stoning nurses checked whether Aisha was still alive. They pulled her body out of the ground to ascertain she was still breathing before the stoning continued.

A Unicef statement said: 'She sought protection from the authorities, who then accused her of adultery and sentenced her to death. 'A child was victimised twice - first by the perpetrators of the rape and then by those responsible for administering justice.'

This is what the Taliban means when it talks of sharia law and what has in mind for the rest of the world. This is why the idea of engaging in talks with the Taliban over the future of Afghanistan is such a dangerous idea.

The jihadists cannot compromise and have already demonstrated, during their barbaric governance of Afghanistan from 1996-2001 that they are cannot be part of a civilized coalition to govern anything.

It is worth remembering that the Muslim Brotherhood, including its supposedly enlightened leaders like Tariq Ramadan, do not condemn this barbaric form of justice. Why? Iran warns against Taliban.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki warned the West on Sunday not to push for talks with the Taliban militia which had stormy relations with Tehran when it ruled Afghanistan up to 2001.

"Today, the whole world knows about the strategic failure of foreign forces in Afghanistan and we advise them not to try a new failure," Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told a news conference.

"We advise them to think about the consequences of the talks [with the Taliban] which are taking place in the region and in Europe and avoid being bitten in the same spot twice," Mottaki said, citing a Persian proverb.

Can Google Do What Amazon Couldn’t? The Search For Steve Fossett In The Nevada Desert

When computer scientist Jim Gray was lost at sea earlier this year, Amazon stepped in to help. They arranged for a satellite sweep of the area and stored the images on their S3 storage service. They then created a task on their Mechanical Turk service to allow volunteers to scan the images to look for the boat. Thousands of people joined the search, but he was never found.

Now Steve Fossett, a 63 year old aviator, sailor and adventurer with a number of world records, has disappeared as well. On September 3, an airplane he was flying in Nevada failed to return. No one has any idea where he is.

His friend Richard Branson now says he will use Google Earth to try and find Fossett. Google may have taken new satellite photos over the last few days which may have information that can help find him.

With Gray, there was a lot of data to review and a boat appears as a very small number of pixels in a given satellite image. Looking for a plane, or even a weather disturbance, in the Nevada desert may not be much easier. Still, if Branson and/or Google call for volunteers to help with the search, I am sure that thousands will join the effort. And once again, Mechanical Turk would be a perfect way to organize the volunteers, even if they are looking at Google data.

Terrorists Accuse al Qaeda in Iraq of Stealing Video

A terrorist organization in Iraq, the Jaish al-Mujahideen, has criticized an al Qaeda front group, The Islamic State of Iraq, for stealing their video. No joke.

The recent al Furqan video shows what is claimed to be an al Qaeda IED attack on a police vehicle in Fallujah. But the video appears to be the same as an earlier attack claimed by Jaish al-Mujahideen.

We were confused as how they could be so productive video wise.
We couldn't track the motivation, context didn't fit.

There is a pay scale for videos, bigger target, more bodies higher pay.
And some greedy insurgent wana bee ( free lancers ) sold the video to both...ha ha .
And they got caught, motivation financial reward.

some rubes maybe still submitting their videos and not getting paid.
So some attacks may be launched just for the video reward.
Which means it is substantial, and many of the IED attacks are not political or religiously motivated.
