S. Lehman pissed somebody off.

Shearson Lehman needs to be careful whom they piss off.

WASHINGTON, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Richard Fuld, the disgraced head of Lehman Brothers (LEHMQ.PK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), said he would wonder "until they put me in the ground" why the U.S. government did not rescue the 158-year-old Wall Street firm and claimed regulators knew the full scale of its condition far before its collapse.

Fuld said he took full responsibility for his actions ahead of the downfall of Lehman, but said U.S. regulators were aware of everything at the firm and knew how it was pricing its distressed assets in the months prior to its bankruptcy.

If Ignorance is BLISS, then the terrorist must be in rapture.
They are so damn stupid, and a total failure.
I don't know if the cause is an Islamic education, or as I suspect
the terrorist appeal to the truly dumb, and ignorant from a base of common ignorance.

One would think with the advent of the WWW they would have some basic sense of how
the world functions/works.

While the terrorist have made new break throughs in the context of the WWW,
their mistakes are legendary and of monumental proportions on the web and we continue to take advantage of their Ignorance.

This is a PRIME example of the short sightedness, and lack of education or experience in the REAL world that dooms them to embarrassing failure.

The mujahideen's growing interest in undermining U.S. economy is reflected, for example, in an article in the 26th issue of the GIMF's e-magazine Sada Al-Jihad (Echo of Jihad), recently posted on Al-Hesbah and on other Islamist websites. [2] The article, titled "Why the Dollar Collapsed and How America Controls the Price of Oil," discusses the factors that contributed to the devaluation of the dollar in recent years.

( The American economic system will cycle through this down turn as they have all the others, cycles are a function of nature. G )

The author lists among the key factors the economic damage caused by Hurricane Katrina; the losses caused by the September 11 attacks; the cost of the war on terror and of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq; the U.S.'s persistent trade deficit and growing government debt; investors' growing faith in the Euro; the recent subprime crisis in the U.S.; and the fact that financial institutions around the world have started to reduce their dollar reserves, thereby flooding the market with dollars and decreasing the demand for this currency.

The author ends his analysis with the following threat: "The dollar can expect two additional blows that will break its back... [namely] the announcement of the return of the Caliphate..." and the reinstatement of the gold standard in international monetary trade.

Whew that smells of a lack of any primary education.
If the dollar were to have its back broke that would lead to a world wide depression.
And there is not enough Gold in the world to function as international monetary trade.
The shear volume of the Dollars traded daily far exceeds all the gold in the world.
So much for their totalitarian Caliphate based on gold standard.

One can't underestimate the terrorists violence or ignorance.

They as a whole are an embarrassment to Islamic education system and critical thinking in the Middle East.

al Qaeda getting the HELL kicked out of it...

......However, what happened in Anbar and the clashes in north Lebanon`s Nahr el-Bared Palestinian refugee camp, where the Lebanese army engaged in ferocious fighting over three months with members of an al-Qaida-backed militia called Fatah al-Islam, defeating them and killing their leader in the process, are major benchmarks in the ongoing war against terrorism.

As in Iraq were the Sunnis demonstrated not only their ability to turn against al-Qaida, but to defeat them in battle, so too, has the Lebanese army shown that al-Qaida was far from invincible. In three months of severe clashes involving artillery duels, the Lebanese army suffered close to 200 casualties -- a huge number given the size of the Lebanese armed forces. But the determination of the Lebanese army showed that the answer to the infiltration of al-Qaida in Arab countries is to engage local forces in the battle, rather than foreign troops.

The crushing defeat suffered by al-Qaida in Anbar and in north Lebanon is not to be underestimated. The terrorist organization will fight back in any way it can. They will conduct targeted assassinations of those who dared to oppose them, as they did in Iraq last week when they killed a prominent Sunni sheik who dared to defy them by publicly announcing his alliance to U.S. forces.

Yet what we are seeing with the opposition to al-Qaida`s interference in domestic affairs by the Iraqis and the Lebanese is highly significant.

This in fact marks the third major setback suffered by Osama bin Laden`s terrorist outfit in the Arab world. Their first defeat came in Saudi Arabia when Saudi forces, following an initial setback, were able to retake the upper hand, defeating, capturing or killing a number of cells operating in the desert kingdom. The second and third defeats came back-to-back with the victory of the Lebanese army over Fatah al-Islam and the routing of the Islamists from Anbar province.

Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb's emir kicked out

As The Croissant just reported citing 2 reports in the Algerian press, Abdelmalek Droudkel, aka Abu Mussab, was allegedly kicked out of his position of emir of Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) by his peers.
I had mentioned on this site the dissension inside the ranks of AQIM since the ex GSPC changed his name in January and pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda. In fact after the triple suicide bombings in Algiers on 4/11, many AQIM members did not approve of the use of suicide bombings targeting civilians.
To go on a limb, this news could mean the death of AQIM per se and a return of the ex GSPC to a more guerilla style terrorism approach.

An Internet audio message said to be from al-Qaida in Iraq offered a $100,000 reward for killing a Swedish artist who caricatured the Prophet Mohammed.

The speaker, who said he was Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, the head of the terrorist group, promised to increase the reward to $150,000 if Lars Vilks is slaughtered like a lamb, the BBC reported.
