    RUMINT, China

This just in: Authorities in three West European countries have arrested ten individuals whom they believe to have links to Islamic Extremist factions in Uzbekistan. It is reported that those arrested were obtaining funding for a militant group within Uzbekistan that allegedly has ties with al-Qaida.

Yuldeshev and his Uzbeks are going to be trouble, many are Russian Army trained, very disciplined and they play rough. Rumors are that the Chinese are terrified of them regarding the Olympics, talk of a dirty bomb there. The Uzbeks would do it and they have all the access they need with the Tibetans

    Excerpts:
    China's Cyber Militia

    by Shane Harris

One prominent expert told National Journal he believes that China's People's Liberation Army played a role in the power outages. Tim Bennett, the former president of the Cyber Security Industry Alliance, a leading trade group, said that U.S. intelligence officials have told him that the PLA in 2003 gained access to a network that controlled electric power systems serving the northeastern United States. The intelligence officials said that forensic analysis had confirmed the source, Bennett said. "They said that, with confidence, it had been traced back to the PLA." These officials believe that the intrusion may have precipitated the largest blackout in North American history, which occurred in August of that year. A 9,300-square-mile area, touching Michigan, Ohio, New York, and parts of Canada, lost power; an estimated 50 million people were affected.....There has never been an official U.S. government assertion of Chinese involvement in the outage, but intelligence and other government officials contacted for this story did not explicitly rule out a Chinese role. One security analyst in the private sector with close ties to the intelligence community said that some senior intelligence officials believe that China played a role in the 2003 blackout that is still not fully understood.
    ..............

The Central Intelligence Agency's chief cyber-security officer, Tom Donahue, said that hackers had breached the computer systems of utility companies outside the United States and that they had even demanded ransom. Donahue spoke at a January gathering in New Orleans of security executives from government agencies and some of the nation's largest utility and energy companies. He said he suspected that some of the hackers had inside knowledge of the utility systems and that in at least one case, an intrusion caused a power outage that affected multiple cities. The CIA didn't know who launched the attacks or why, Donahue said, "but all involved intrusions through the Internet."

    ......................
"Cyber-networks are the new frontier of counterintelligence," Brenner emphasized. "If you can steal information or disrupt an organization by attacking its networks remotely, why go to the trouble of running a spy?"

Stephen Spoonamore, CEO of Cybrinth, a cyber-security firm that works for government and corporate clients, said that Chinese hackers attempt to map the IT networks of his clients on a daily basis. He said that executives from three Fortune 500 companies, all clients, had document-stealing code planted in their computers while traveling in China, the same fate that befell Gutierrez.

    .................

    Private Sector Foot-Dragging

There is little indication that cyber-intrusions, however menacing, have severely impaired government operations for very long. So why are so many officials increasingly sounding the alarm about network attacks, Chinese hacking and espionage, and the advent of cyberwar?

Part of the answer lies in officials’ most recent appraisals of the cyber-threat. They cite evidence that attacks are increasing in volume and appear engineered more to cause real harm than sporadic inconvenience. Without naming China, Robert Jamison, the top cyber-security official at DHS, told reporters at a March briefing, “We’re concerned that the intrusions are more frequent, and they’re more targeted, and they’re more sophisticated.”

“In terms of breaches within government systems, it’s something that has happened quite a bit over the last six, seven years,” says Shannon Kellogg, the director of information-security policy for EMC Corp., which owns RSA, a top cyber-security research firm. “But the scale of these types of breaches and attacks seems to have increased substantially.”

Government officials are more concerned now than in recent years about the private sector’s inability, or unwillingness, to stop these pervasive attacks. When Donahue, the CIA cyber-security officer, warned the gathering in New Orleans about foreign hackings of power plants, some saw it as a direct challenge to American companies.

    .......................

The Air Force is in the process of setting up a Cyberspace Command, headed by a two-star general and comprising about 160 individuals assigned to a handful of bases. As Wired noted in a recent profile, Cyberspace Command "is dedicated to the proposition that the next war will be fought in the electromagnetic spectrum and that computers are military weapons." The Air Force has launched a TV ad campaign to drum up support for the new command, and to call attention to cyberwar. "You used to need an army to wage a war," a narrator in the TV spot declares. "Now all you need is an Internet connection."

Iran will have nuclear weapon in three years: Mossad

Iran will have nuclear weapon in three years: Mossad

Tue Feb 5, 6:05 AM ET

JERUSALEM (AFP) - Israel's Mossad spy agency estimates Iran will develop a nuclear weapon within three years and continue to provide rockets to regional armed groups, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Mossad director Meir Dagan, in an intelligence assessment presented to Israel's powerful foreign affairs and defence committee on Monday, said the Jewish state would face increased threats on all fronts, Maariv daily said.

Dagan's estimate of Iran's nuclear ambitions differs sharply from an assessment by the US intelligence community late last year that said Iran had mothballed its nuclear weapons programme in 2003.

That report compiled by 16 US intelligence agencies said the Islamic republic would not be able to attain a nuclear weapon until 2015.

Israel has questioned those findings, claiming that although Iran may have temporarily halted its nuclear drive five years ago it has since relaunched it while pressing ahead with a public uranium enrichment programme.

Tehran has always insisted its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes.

In Monday's report, Dagan also predicted that Tehran would continue to supply more and better rockets and training to Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip.

Dagan added that Iran's allies Syria and the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah were also working to develop an increased rocket ability.

"Syria is improving its surface-to-surface missile system and today the quantity of missiles and rockets is twice as large as two years ago," Dagan said, according to Maariv.

Israel has long perceived Iran as its greatest threat, especially after Iran's President Mahmud Ahmadinejad relaunched its nuclear enrichment programme and repeatedly predicted the demise of the Jewish state.

    NIE = Cover?

    Paradigm Intel:
( NOTE: When our bots picked up the NIE, we had assumed George had Blessed it,
he had not; as we learned later. We have left up our original post with updates, notice how IMPORTANT just knowing if a leader backs an Intel report or NOT makes to the Paradigm conclusions. )

#1) Iran capitulated, they just blinked but is pulling a JFK, secret deal, USA backs down and they give up N. BOMB.
    or
#2) Top level insider spying, How could they trust him?
    or
#3) NIE is wrong, not likely after Iran WMD and N. Korea problems.

It has to be hard and fast Intel to get a NIE to do a 180 degrees, something certain.
If they are wrong it would cost the Republicans the election, so they are very sure. ( UPDATE: THIS DIDNOT COME FROM THE ADMIN, NO VOTER RISK )
Iran broke, if Iran quit Nukes back in 2003 why not avoid all the sanctions?

    NO just doesn't fit.

This is very good news, if Iran just blinked, and Iran should back off on many fronts now.
And some face to face meetings soon with Iran IF they blinked.

Set out bots to collect evidence.

UPDATE: Bush is not pushing this.

#4) Some Press thinks its a split between Bush and US intelligence community.

USA should have a House and Senate Intel committee Investigation of the NIE and Michael McConnell. He just upset the diplomatic apple cart

Iran enough material for 2 nukes

DEBKAfile: Some independent experts believe Iran may already be producing enough fissile material for a nuclear bomb

    November 19, 2007, 2:54 PM (GMT+02:00)

Data reaching the US and Israel indicate that the boast made by Iranian president Ahmadinejad - and confirmed by the IAEA - that Tehran has 3,000 working centrifuges for uranium enrichment masks the real figure, which most likely tops 5,000 or is even close to 7,000 working machines.

Therefore, even if the Iranian nuclear industry is preyed by technical setbacks, it will be left with enough functioning machines to produce enough fissile material for at least two bombs a year.

Read more about this in DEBKAfile Exclusive Report below

    Iran Intelligence service, BLIND

THE MIDDLE EAST MEDIA RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Special Dispatch Series - No. 1727
    September 27, 2007
Iranian Daily: 'The Intelligence That the West Currently Has on Iran's Nuclear Program is Limited to the Sites Accessible to IAEA Inspectors – And More Than That They Do Not Know'

Against the backdrop of the increasing threat of a possible attack on Iran, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commander Mohammad Ali J'afari warned the countries in the region against permitting the U.S. to attack Iran from its territory, saying "We will pay you back, and this is only natural." [1]

In addition, the conservative Iranian daily Kayhan, which is close to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, hinted that Iran had not yet revealed all its nuclear facilities, and maintained that the West does not have all the intelligence information that it needs to completely destroy Iran's nuclear program.

The following are the highlights of the Kayhan article: [2]

"Is a new war on the way?... It seems that there is a need to precisely clarify, once and for all, why [the U.S.] cannot launch a war on Iran... All the questions and intelligence ambiguities that are facing the U.S.... make any discussion of [the U.S.'s] preparedness for an attack on Iran a joke, at best.

"The important questions are: How wide is the gap between the exact point to which Iran's nuclear program has progressed and what the Americans perceive to be the point of no return[?]... The intelligence that the West currently has on Iran's nuclear program is limited to the sites accessible to IAEA inspectors, and more than that they do not know... Is the [total] number of Iran's nuclear facilities [really] limited to those facilities that have been reported - so that America can be certain that by destroying them it will destroy Iran's entire nuclear program, or at least set it back for a very long time?...

"Iran declares that it will consider to be an enemy any country that places its territory at the disposal of the Americans so that they can attack [Iran]... Iran's strategic facilities are scattered across the breadth of Iran, and are completely camouflaged... "

    [1] Rooz (Iran), September 26, 2007.

    [2] Kayhan (Iran), September 25, 2007.

    Syria's nuclear installations

One Bush administration official said Israel had recently carried out reconnaissance flights over Syria, taking pictures of possible nuclear installations that Israeli officials believed might have been supplied with material from North Korea. The administration official said Israeli officials believed that North Korea might be unloading some of its nuclear material on Syria.

“The Israelis think North Korea is selling to Iran and Syria what little they have left,” the official said. He said it was unclear whether the Israeli strike had produced any evidence that might validate that belief.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were discussing a military action by another government. Source

    Intel and ops round up

BELGRADE, Jun 12 (IPS) - Weapons from the Balkans wars of the 1990s are beginning to arm conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan, well-placed officials have revealed.

A vital element of the Dayton Peace Agreements that ended the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1995 was the destruction of huge caches of heavy weapons, artillery, small arms and ammunition.

The 39,000-strong Stabilisation Forces led by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) until December 2004, followed by the 6,300 European Union Forces (EUFOR) sought to re-establish peace and ensure security. And this meant destruction of remaining weapons.

But these weapons have headed in other directions. Bosnian daily Nezavisne Novine and Croatian daily Vecernji List have quoted a former Austrian member of EUFOR, identified as "Major Erwin K" as saying that under United States pressure stockpiled arms and ammunition were ordered sold to Afghanistan and Iraq after 9/11.

At least 290,000 rifles were sold to private firms, mostly based in the United States. The guns were finally meant to be supplied to "local security forces" in Afghanistan and Iraq, the military source was quoted as saying.

Moscow Releases Nuclear Fuel for Iran's Bushehr Reactor

    June 12, 2007, 1:12 PM (GMT+02:00)
Iran's Bushehr atomic reactor can start rolling with Russian fuel

DEBKA-Net-Weekly 304 disclosed on June 8 that the week before the G8 opened in Germany, Moscow released the long-withheld nuclear fuel for Iran's atomic reactor in Bushehr. It was delivered 24 hours before Israel launched its new military imaging satellite Ofeq-7, bringing forward the Iranian threat to Israel, according to DEBKAfile's military sources. One immediate result has been the stiffening of Tehran's negative posture, sparking what nuclear watchdog director Mohammed ElBaradei called Monday, June 11, a confrontation that needs to be urgently defused.

As DEBKA-Net-Weekly reported, special nuclear containers were loaded on a train in the yard of the manufacturers JSC Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant on June 2-3. They contained two types of nuclear fuel, WER-440 and WER-1000.

The special train then headed out of Novosibirsk to Astrakhan on the Caspian Sea, 2,000 km away. There, the containers awaited loading aboard a Russian ship destined for Bandar Anzili, the Iranian military port on the Caspian shore. According to our Iranian sources, a fleet of Iranian trucks was waiting at the other end outside Bandar Anzili port to transport the nuclear fuel and drive it slowly and carefully to Bushehr, a distance of 850km, arriving June 10 or 11.

But DEBKAfile's sources added the journey was interrupted by holdups ordered by the Kremlin in an episode which also laid bare the interdependence of Iran's nuclear industry and Tehran's program for arming Syria for war with Israel with the latest Russian munitions.

A few days before the nuclear fuel left the Siberian factory, Tehran delivered the sum of $327m for a fresh delivery of Russian missiles to Syria. Iran pledged another $438m for further arms consignments before the fuel cargo was allowed to go forward. Putin then ordered the cargo to be loaded at Astrakhan, but await delivery in port until payment was made.

DEBKAfile picks up the story Tuesday, June 12, and reports that Iran duly deposited the money and the ship was permitted to set sail and cross the Caspian Sea to Iran.

A Muslim extremist group threatened to behead female TV broadcasters if they don't don strict Islamic dress, leaving the women terrified and marking a further downward spiral in Gaza's anarchy.

The threat to "cut throats from vein to vein" was delivered by the Swords of Truth, a fanatical group that has previously claimed responsibility for bombing Internet cafes and music shops. The new threat was the first time the organization targeted a specific group of people, and adds to a growing climate of extremism, fear and suspicion in Gaza.

A British company has been closed down after being caught in an apparent attempt to sell black-market weapons-grade uranium to Iran and Sudan, The Observer can reveal.

Anti-terrorist officers and MI6 are now investigating a wider British-based plot allegedly to supply Iran with material for use in a nuclear weapons programme. One person has already been charged with attempting to proliferate 'weapons of mass destruction'.

During the 20-month investigation, which also involved MI5 and Customs and Excise, a group of Britons was tracked as they obtained weapons-grade uranium from the black market in Russia. Investigators believe it was intended for export to Sudan and on to Iran.

A number of Britons, who are understood to have links with Islamic terrorists abroad, remain under surveillance. Investigators believe they have uncovered the first proof that al-Qaeda supporters have been actively engaged in developing an atomic capability. The British company, whose identity is known to The Observer but cannot be disclosed for legal reasons, has been wound up.

A Customs and Excise spokesman said: 'We continue to investigate allegations related to the supply of components for nuclear programmes including related activities of British nationals.'

    immature

The problem is , there is a group that wants nuclear weapons, and a caliphate from Spain to Iran.
These same people killed 10 over a cartoon.
that scared the hell out of us.

We have had simmilar cultural hickups in the past, burning of witches and the Spanish Inqusition.
Until their general populations realize its insanity, it continues.

I think it will be the same with the Muslims.
But now we have nuclear weapons, Imagine the wich burners deciding on nuking a town because it had to many witches, those cultures passed through an immature period, much the same as Muslims are in now.

In time they will out grow it, until then USA must keep WMD away from them, I don't want to wake up to a nuke war because someone took offense to a Bugs Bunny cartoon.

NO CALIPHATE, NO STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM NO NUKES, NOT YET.

IRAN WANTS NUKES TO ASSURE THEIR SAFETY, THEY SAW IRAQ AND AFGNANI GO DOWN.

AND THEY SEE N.KOREA WITH NUKES THUMBING THEIR NOSE AT THE WORLD.

WE ARE TAKING CARE OF N.KOREA KRAZY KIM IS IN HIDDING, HIT SQUADS ARE HUNTING HIM, AND IF IRAN CONTINUES USA WILL TAKE CARE OF THEM.

IF IRAN USED A NUKE AGAINST AMERICAN TROOPS WHAT DO YOU THINK GEORGI WOULD DO TO MECCA? I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HE WOULD DO, NEITHER DO THE MUSLIMS WANT TO KNOW.

IT IS IN THE MUSLIMS HANDS, TO GROUND THIS INSANITY.

ABUSING WOMEN, BE HEADINGS, CUTING OFF HANDS FOR STEALING, TERRORISM IN THE NUCLEAR AGE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, NO NUKES, NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

I AM WONDERING WHAT mUSLIMS THINK OF THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS ALLAH HAS BROUGHT ON THEM?
IF AMERICA IS THE DEVIL WHY HAS ALLAH MADE THE THE LION OF THE WORLD.

WHY IS ALLAH PUNISHING THE MOSLEMS?
