Jamaat Ansar al-Sunna or Group of the Protectors of the Sunna (faith) (Arabic: جماعة أنصار السنه ) , (formerly Jaish Ansar al-Sunna) is an Islamist militant group in Iraq that fought the US-led occupation and US-backed interim government of Iyad Allawi, and continues to fight the occupation and the new US backed regime of Nouri al-Maliki. The group is based in northern and central Iraq, and includes Kurdish (Kurds) [1] groups and Sunni Arab religious radicals as well as some foreign fighters. The group maintains close ties with the remnants of Ansar al-Islam, a Kurdish Islamist organization formerly based in the mountains near Halabja in northeastern Iraq before the U.S-led invasion. U.S. officials believe that the group was founded in September of 2003 as an umbrella organization for Islamist guerrillas, with former members of Ansar al-Islam at its core. This date coincides with the first released message from the group stating their existence, on September 20. They claim to seek to expel U.S.-led occupation forces from Iraq and to subsequently establish an Islamic state. The group's leader has been identified Abu Abdullah al-Hassan bin Mahmoud, who is believed to be the brother of a major Ansar al-Islam fighter, although his background is unclear.

Ansar al-Sunna is thought to have links with other Islamist organizations operating in Iraq including, the formerly Abu Musab al-Zarqawi backed, Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad (al-Qaeda in Iraq). In October 2004 Ansar al-Sunna released a video beheading of a Turkish truck driver on its website. The kidnappers on the video identified themselves as members of al-Tawhid wal-Jihad (Source: MERIA). Initially the United States and Iraqi Interim governments reportedly linked Ansar al-Sunna to al-Qaeda

But it sure explains the problems USA is having in the Middle East.

First look at the distribution for Sunni and Shite, now, substitute Persian = Shitte:
and Sunni = Arab.

Now look at where Iraq is right next to the Shiites, right between the Arabs and Persians.

In between the Hatfield's and McCoys.

And one group is looking for Nukes.

The other group are criminals ( Robbing banks, killing women children, blowing up Mosques and market places ) and blew up the World Trade Center.

Taking out Saddam pulled the plug on Middle East power balance.
The Middle East is trying to regain its equilibrium as it always has all through History, through violence.

Iraq was at war with Iran, in effect holding Iran in check, even in their cold war.

The Saddam power base is gone and the ( Shiite ) Persians, Iran are now on the loose in Iraq ( Iraq's Government are mostly Shiite ).

The ( Sunni ) Arabs are rushing forces in to Iraq counter the Persians. And ole Binny is Sunni.

No add in Afghan, the Taliban and the Kurds, Lebanon and Israel.

This is going to be very messy.
And could get beyond imagination if one of them gets a nuke.

How do you respond to a non-state nuke attack?

Al Qaeda is evolving into the next Internet step which will revolutionize the terror paradigm.

The World continues to be re-active instead of pro-active, this will be costly, in the worst sense of the word.

The Internet paradigm continues to be dominated by the "Other".

The only battlefield the USA doesn't control.

The war in the Middle East is easily understood.

USA needs to separate the terrorist ( Al Qaeda ) from the Arabs.
USA needs to separate the terrorist ( AQ ) from the Persians.
To separate the terrorists ( AQ ) from the Sunnis.
To separate the terrorists ( AQ ) from the Shittes.

That is the target of USA, al Qaeda, the Arab, Persian, Sunni, Shitte problem is NOT that of USA.

The problem lies with the Insurgents, Arabs, Sunnis, vs the Persians Shittes and the fight for the control of Iraq.

Arabs, SA, Jordan, Turkey, Afghan, al Qaeda and the Taliban and all Sunni.
VS
Persians, Iran, Iraq ( the ruling democracy elected a Shitte Government ) and all Shitte.

And in the CENTER of all these countries lies IRAQ, look at a map.

And everyone wants USA to stay.
The Arabs and Persians want USA to keep a cover on this boiling pot while they develop a support base in Iraq.
The Sunni want USA to stay to stop the Shitte Government from wiping them out.
And the Shitte want USA to stay to keep the Arabs out.
And the Ummah wants USA to stay cause they know when USA leaves it will be open warfare.

This is of course over simplified but the general paradigm applies.

Editorial

For all the myriad flaws of US and Israeli policy in the Middle East, no one who looks at the region with an unbiased eye can fail to note the Arabs' role in this season of their own discontent. From Algeria, Morocco and Sudan to Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine, government and opposition parties alike are engaged in all manner of underhanded and self-destructive activities. Arab regimes meddle in one another's domestic affairs with abandon and refuse to differentiate between sedition and legitimate dissent, preferring instead to repress both with equal enthusiasm. Many of those who rail against the current Arab condition refuse to offer policy platforms, lending credence to the theory that their only goal is to replace the existing order atop a mountain of authoritarianism and corruption. In essence, all are making war on one another and on their own peoples.
