    IRAN:MOIS dis-information operation

Iranian Intel has been running extensive dis-information operations
    against PMOI.

They are able to get other Iranians to make fake charges
against PMOI, with threats against their families in Iran.

Iran Focus has a good example of how they are able
to influence even well educated MEP's.

    Ana Maria GOMES
    Portugal:

Is a good example of their efforts.
Iran focus documents the case of
    influence by dis-information.

    She is Vice-Chairwoman of
Subcommittee on Security and Defence [See]

    Iran Focus

ImageLondon, Apr. 30 – A member of the European Parliament from Portugal has been in direct contact with the Iranian regime’s officials and agents, Iran Focus has learnt.

Ana Gomes MEP has had extensive contacts with the regime through various channels and she has been supported by supply of misinformation in her opposition to the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI), according to reliable information obtained from sources within several organs of the Tehran regime.

Gomes’s main contact person with the regime is Rassoul Mohajer, the Iranian ambassador to Portugal. The Iranian embassy has been supplying documents against the PMOI for her activities against Paulo Casaca, another Euro MP from Portugal, who supports the Iranian Resistance. She has been encouraged by the regime for her activities against the PMOI and Casaca.

Mohajer has maintained an active contact with Gomes and he has met with her on a number of occasions at the embassy. He is trying not to make his contacts with Gomes public and keeping it away from the media so that her contacts with the regime would not be branded as links with the regime. This is to facilitate their joint activities. In response to foreign ministry’s suggestion to Mohajer to invite Gomes to Iran, he said that it should be delayed until the end of upcoming elections in Portugal as it might undermine her election campaign. Mohajer is one of the senior members of the Iran’s foreign ministry and he had been Iran’s ambassador to Romania and Hungary and before being appointed as the ambassador to Portugal he was the director general of the consular affairs at the foreign ministry.

She is also in active contact with Iran’s embassy in Brussels. She has met several times with Hossein Karimi, the Iranian Charge d’Affairs. The last arrangement for a meeting was scheduled for late April 2009, but it had to be postponed till July 2009, due to an urgent trip to Portugal.

As she is also a Rapporteur on Iraq at the European Parliament, she also maintains an active contact with the Iraqi agents of the Iranian regime. Referring to Ms. Gomes, one of the clerical regime’s foreign ministry officials had noted that due to her responsibility as a Rapporteur on Iraq, the Iranian regime’s influence on Iraq has brought her closer to the regime. She has visited Iraq at least three times; in January 2008 (Baghdad, Nassiriya and Hur regions), February 2008 (Kurdish and northern areas) and in January 2009.

Gomes, in her visits to Iraq, has established active contacts with Iraqi Members of Parliament and officials who are well-known for being veteran agents of the Tehran regime.

One of the Iraqi agents of the regime who is in active contact with Gomes is Hadi Ameri (His real name is Hadi Farhan Abdullah Al-Ameri and his Iranian name is Hadi Ameri). He is the Chair of the Iraqi Parliament’s Committee on Security and Defense. For many years, he was one of the officials of the Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq based in Tehran and he has been heading the Badr organization for years. His wife is Iranian and he had lived in Iran for more than 20 years. He is a Revolutionary Guard Brigadier General at the Quds Force and he has received training at Imam Hussein University in Tehran for command by the Revolutionary Guard. His superior in the Iranian regime is the Revolutionary Guard Brigadier General Qasem Soleimani, Commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (Soleimani is included in the Security Council’s sanctions list number 1747). His account number in Tehran is 3014 and his code at the Revolutionary Guard is 3829597. During the past seven years he has been actively campaigning against Camp Ashraf and calling for expulsion of the PMOI from Iraq and pursuing the policies of the Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) and the Quds Force, which is believed to be behind a spate of terrorist attacks outside of Iran.

Ameri was a member of the Iraqi delegation who visited the European Parliament, Brussels, in late April 2009 where he also met with Gomes. Simultaneous with adoption of a resolution at the European Parliament in support of Ashraf residents on April 24, he was at the Parliament trying to prevent its adoption.

    Collusion or DUPE?

Why is she still Vice-Chairwoman of

    Subcommittee on Security and Defence.
We have tried to email her twice with no answer.
She is up for election in Portugal.
We would be glad to post her rebuttal.

    Pakistani Election: MEANING

the election was a repudiation of Pakistan's flirtation with radical Islam. At press time, with more than half of the results announced, Islamic parties had taken only three of 272 seats in the National Assembly, compared with 45 in 2002. In their place, voters chose secular parties, such as Benazir Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party (PPP).

"This is profoundly a vote for liberal democracy," says Shafqat Mahmood, a former senator, now a columnist for The News, a national newspaper.

Pakistan's two largest parties, the PPP and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's faction of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) will form a unity government. Projections of the still-unfinished count suggest these two parties could control two-thirds of the seats in parliament if they join with several other small allies.

    Election, Pervez, trouble.

With the election only days away, a survey released yesterday by a U.S.-funded group with ties to the Republican Party found that support for President Pervez Musharraf had plunged to an all-time low and that opposition parties appeared poised to score a landslide victory.

Only 9% believed Pakistan should co-operate with the U.S. in the war against terror, the survey said.

    Update:
Opposition victory not a certainty in Pakistan

    Published: February 13 2008 16:58 | Last updated: February 13 2008 16:58

It is midnight and Khurshid Kasuri, foreign minister in Pakistan's outgoing government, limps home from the campaign trail. One of the most prominent members of Pervez Musharraf's military-backed regime seeking re-election in Monday's general election, Mr Kasuri is fighting a hotly contested rural constituency in Punjab, the populous and relatively wealthy province that accounts for a little more than half the country's 272 contested parliamentary seats.

Keepsakes from his years in government adorn the living room of Kasuri's imposing home in Gulberg, a smart district of Lahore: photographs show him with George W. Bush and Condoleezza Rice of the US, others with Chinese and Indian leaders. But if a wave of sympathy for the Pakistan People's Party washes over the Punjab, triggered by the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, those days might soon be at an end.

Taken at face value, national polls by organisations such as the International Republican Institute, a non-profit group dedicated to advancing democracy worldwide, suggest the two main opposition parties, the PPP and the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), are set for a landslide. This would demolish the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam), the party set up to support the regime of Mr Musharraf.

Its latest poll, released on Monday, found that the president's popularity has tumbled to all-time lows in the wake of Bhutto's assassination in December, and growing concern over the deteriorating security situation and the worsening economy. A number of moves that should have improved his position, including the ending of the state of emergency and his resignation as army chief, have failed to deliver a bounce in his ratings.

Three-quarters of Pakistanis now want Mr Musharraf out of office. The pro-Musharraf PML (Q) comes a distant third, with just 14 per cent, far behind the PPP, supported by 50 per cent in the national sample, and the PML-N, which came second with 22 per cent. Some 79 per cent of those polled said they would assume the elections had been rigged if the PML (Q) won the most seats.

Such an outcome would dash Mr Musharraf's hopes of a hung parliament. With his party unable to hold the balance of power, he would be forced to accept a marginal role in national politics. If he failed to come to terms with his new role as third fiddle to the prime minister and army chief, the PPP and PML (N) could even move an impeachment motion against him, assuming they had the required two-thirds of parliamentary seats.

But observers of Pakistan's feudal politics say it is too soon to be writing Mr Musharraf's political obituary. Politics in Pakistan is largely local, determined by power-plays between rivals on the ground. "When you get down to district level, it's all about the candidate," says Mr Kasuri, a PML (Q) politician from one of Pakistan's oldest political families. "Parties have relatively little influence."

A western diplomat, who doubts that opposition parties will be able to form a government without PML (Q) support, agrees: "The chances of anyone securing an absolute majority are nil. It could be the PPP that ends up on top, or it could be the PML (Q). It's entirely possible that both parties could get between 70 and 80 seats.

"It will all depend on the outcome of a small number of swing seats in southern Punjab."

Terrorism voter Fraud in Afghan, Paki

Terrorism voter Fraud in Afghan and Paki.

Are the Taliban moving "voters" across the Taliban stealth border to vote in BOTH the Afghan and Paki elections? Taliban plannig on stealing the elections?

How much could the Taliban influence the elections in Paki and Afghan?
Is there a cross check of voter registration for both countries?

    G

    Mohammad Fahim Khairy said...

The world already understood who the Taliban is and what they want. They just started Sunni and Shia war in Pakistan to make a motive for transferring of thousands Pashtuns from Pakistan to Afghanistan because of the next election. So they can make more votes for the Pashtun future president of Afghanistan.

Why do they not go to Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad etc, those cities are more peaceful than Afghanistan?

Now if they don't representing Pashtun why do they always supporting other Pashtuns with any politic ideologies? Shah Nawaz Tanai Ex Defense Minster of Communist regime is now on Taliban side.

Osama Ben Ladin use Islam as tools to empower Pan Arabism so do the Taliban, they empower Pan Pashtunism.

So do they know whom is voting in both Elections, Paki and Afghan?
    G

A Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs was even established during Zahir Shah’s time and exists to this day. This Ministry solely concentrates on the Pakistani border even though Afghanistan shares its borders with five other countries: Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and China. The purpose of this Ministry is to give the tribes of the Pashtuns living around that border area a regular salary as well as weapons under the pretense of having them protect the border. Even the Pashtuns on the Pakistani side receive Afghanistani ID cards, a steady salary and weapons for the same purpose. Not surprisingly, 90% of the violence comes from that region. Now, if the government refuses to acknowledge that the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan exists, why bother having a Ministry dedicated to it as well as giving money and weapons for its protection?
