    McChrystal fired, mystery continues.

    McChrystal fired, mystery continues.

From the Uniform Code of Miliatry Justice: “888. ART. 88. CONTEMPT TOWARD OFFICIALS
“Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

the fallout from comments made to Rolling Stone magazine ...."contemptuous words"???

10 things to remember: by Thomas P.M. Barnett

In Kabul and inside the Beltway, there’s a lot of anger being directed at Duncan Boothby, the strategic communications advisor who arranged the Rolling Stone interviews. Boothby, a former producer for Lou Dobbs’ television show, spent years counseling generals on improving their outreach.
firing of the aide...was  he fired or did he resign?
The Washington Post reported that Boothby, a civilian press aide, "was heavily involved in arranging access for journalist Michael Hastings to McChrystal and his staff this year so Hastings could write the profile, titled 'The Runaway General.'" (WTF, G)

Boothby is not a military officer ( No known photos,G). He is one of a growing number of civilians hired as press aides for senior military brass as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan continue to generate considerable public interest and controversy.
Before becoming a press adviser to McChrystal, Boothby worked for Lt. Gen. William Caldwell, one of the senior U.S. commanders on McChrystal's staff.

McChrystal, who spent much of his military career in the world of special operations, didn't have as much experience dealing with the media as did other top commanders, such as Gen. David H. Petraeus. Boothby's appointment was seen as supplementing the general in an area where he was weak.

    Was the General sabotaged?
Why was the General directed into this interview,'The Runaway General.',
What advise did Boothby give the General?
    Boothby needs an investigation.

Those who have dealt with him say he provided a humorous counterpoint to the military men who surrounded him.
“You had a hard time believing someone like McChrystal would pick him,” a veteran reporter in Afghanistan recalled. “He was slick, about 5-foot-8, well tailored, and you knew he could never run 20 miles. Then you would see him with the brass and he just looked out of place.” Yet reporters there say that he was the one you had to go through to get access to the generals.
“He was very glib, had a British accent and could really work a crowd. But it was clear he wasn’t military,” another said.

    Rolling Stones said:
"So our reporter was on the road with him for a number of days, went out drinking with them, saw them preparing for speeches, saw them going to meetings and then also went to Afghanistan," he said.
"We were really behind the curtain and hearing how the general and his top staff talk among themselves amid this war. They are a close knit group," Bates said. "They are in the war and this is how they talk behind the scenes when they are blowing off steam by themselves."
"We fact checked it thoroughly and spent the last two weeks before the story went to press checking with them, checking all of our sources and making sure we had it right," he said. "So they knew what they were doing when they granted the access and the interview."

    Obama says:
.... undermines the civilian control of the military that is at the core of our democratic system.
Did Obama really think the General was undermining the civilian control of the Military?
Nonsense, sounds more like concern about the next Presidential election ?
Was Obama duped into sacking McChrystal?

    Fictional MOVIE OF THE WEEK:
    By our Paradigm generator.
This movie may have NO connection to reality.

Obama  gets tough on Wall St Banks,
    making noise about re-regulating Banks.
    Republican Lobbyists Investigators
for the Wall St Banks need to blindside
    Obama during his presidency and
derail future run for second term.

They search data base of known reporters
and their pre dispositions towards Obama
    and the US Military.
They come up with a favorite son.
Michael Hastings,  they know he will use
any info in a manner detrimental to the
    administration and without direction.

And they are able to get Boothby,
a civilian and in some manner convince him
to put Michael Hastings together with
    McChrystal in an environment camaraderie
and loose talk, with assurances he is to be
    Trusted.

The Banking Lobbyists get Press quotes
they can use against Obama in the next election
at the least, and at best get McChrystal fired
loosing the Afghan war, of which he is the designer.
    And leading expert.

Handicapping Obama by getting the top
US General fired, and none of this would be
    illegal.

They could turn the heat up fast with Twitter:

Now this isn't necessarily true, its just my
script for a fictional movie of the week,
based on a abnormal paradigm ID by
    our programs.

    The whole McChrystal debacle smells.
There has to be alot more to the story
    than we have been told.
This just made Obama look weak.
A stronger president could have handled it
    differently. McChrystal did not personally
    make the most egregious comments.
    The controversial comments from Gen.
    McChrystal's staff, while impolitic,
do not warrant his dismissal, Obama just
shot himself in the foot in the middle
    of a heavyweight championship fight.
